    Luxury Swiss watch brand Hublot is announced the debut of its latest timepiece with brand ambassador, Kobe Bryant, the Big Bang Unico Chronograph Retrograde Kobe "Vino" Bryant, which coincided with the opening of its first boutique in San Francisco. This is the second timepiece the brand has produced with the basketball legend, after the success of the King Power Black Mamba Chronograph coinciding with his 2013 ambassadorship announcement.

    Kobe Brant, Hublot Brand Ambassador, said: "It is an honor to launch my second Hublot Timepiece, Vino. When I joined the Hublot family, the Black Mamba was a natural fit, but we also discussed the relationship between basketball, watchmaking and wine; specifically, the dedication of the wine makers to making that perfect blend, the effort that goes into the maturation process and the attention to detail that goes into the art of watchmaking," he added.

    The Big Bang Unico Chronograph Retrograde Kobe "Vino" Bryant, available in Ceramic and King Gold, features a sleek design that reflects Kobe's personal style off the court. Burgundy embellishments are reflected on the strap, stitching and dial of the timepiece. The Chronograph Retrograde is designed to time the two halves of a basketball game - an innovative concept that Hublot has produced specifically for this timepiece. The dial features a prominent basketball design integrated into a matte burgundy multilayer disc. On the case back, a green glass in rare earth minerals with an interior anti-reflective treatment carries Kobe Bryant's signature. Available in two versions, 18K King Gold and Black Ceramic, each piece will be delivered with two interchangeable straps - one black rubber and burgundy stitching and one burgundy python with burgundy stitching.

    In the presence of Jean-Claude Biver, Chairman of Hublot and Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, President of FC Bayern Munich, the inauguration of the new Hublot flagship boutique was celebrated in Munich, Germany.

    The evening was dedicated to a good cause. "The greatest luxury of all is sharing - sharing our feelings, our happiness, our love and also our success, which allows us to give to those less fortunate than ourselves," explained Jean-Claude Biver. In partnership with FC Bayern Munich, which offered its support in the form of appearances by some of its players, Hublot was able to stage a fundraising kick-about in the boutique's inner courtyard. On behalf of the renowned sports team and German title record holders, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge was just as generous, and was delighted to make a contribution for the local charity "Artists for Kids".
     

    The players, "Artists for Kids" supporter Michael "Bully" Herbig and other goal scorers managed to raise €46'000 for the project, which fosters creative talent amongst young people. Thomas Peter Friedl (President and, along with Bernd Eichinger, co-founder of the charitable organisation) said: "This donation will allow us to purchase a minibus, which we urgently need and which will make our day-to-day work with the children, young people and families, as well as the travelling involved to get to and from our recently opened base in Ostallgäu, significantly easier. We are absolutely delighted and would like to express our sincerest gratitude for this gift."

    The King Power "305" Collection is a special edition timepiece, limited to just 40 pieces, and specially developed to honor "The Gateway to the Americas." The watch is white and ocean blue to evoke the sand and sea of South Florida, and engraved with "305" to represent the city's well known area code. In addition, the 48 mm-diameter watch is made from King Gold, which is 18 carat gold with 5% platinum, and lends to its distinctive red color. The watch's solid case-back, also in King Gold, is engraved with a view of Miami's South Beach and the number "305." The blue Hornback alligator strap, stitched onto white rubber, completes the watch. Another version of the collection, set with 374 white diamonds and totaling approximately 3.34 carats, is also available in an extremely limited run of 10 pieces.


    Hublot opened its first U.S. store in Bal Harbour, FL, in December 2011 and has since partnered with a variety of celebrities, charities and sports teams, including signing as the official watch of the Miami Heat during the 2011 championship season.
