  • Hublot - Hublot celebrates the Bruce Lee birthday

    2015 is a special year. It is Bruce Lee's 75th birthday anniversary celebration. To commemorate the martial artist and his exclusive philosophy, Hublot has invited the Bruce Lee Foundation to participate in the design of the "Legend Never Dies: Bruce Lee 75th anniversary Memorial Exhibition" and the limited edition "Spirit of Big Bang for Bruce Lee".

    Divided in two parts, the exhibition was held at the Gateway Arcade in Harbour City and opened to the public from November 23rd to 29th. The theme is Bruce Lee's iconic colours: yellow and black. 

    The exhibition featured five sets of Bruce Lee's iconic pieces provided by the Foundation : his tang-style kung fu jacket recalling his silhouette of grandmaster, Bruce Lee personal genuine copy of the "Way of the Dragon" script, this film was originally titled "Enter the Dragon", the script reflects the original titles, "The Game of Death" script cover, scene breakdown and sketches, handwritten and drawn by Bruce Lee, illustrating his vision of the pagoda, the copy of the life mask of Kato in "The Green Hornet". The movie that started Bruce Lee's Hollywood movie career abd the name card of Bruce Lee Martial Art Studio, in which Jeet Kune Do's philosophy was carried forward. 

    Spirit of Big Bang Limited Edition for Bruce Lee 75th Anniversary - A Memorial Watch
    Inspired by the dragon pattern on Bruce Lee's desk, this tribute possesses the spirit of the martial legend and the pure DNA of Hublot. A limited edition of 75 pieces, featuring a tonneau case in all-black microblasted ceramic. The timepiece is fitted with HUB4700 - an automatic winding skeletonized movement with a 50-hour power reserve. The date display window is at 4:30 and the chronograph displays seconds at 9 o'clock, minutes at 3 o'clock and hours at 6 o'clock. Recalling Bruce Lee's iconic colours, the strap is made of black and gold alligator leather sewn on natural rubber.

  • Hublot - Big Bang Unico "10 Years" Haute Joaillerie

    This exceptional and unique "anniversary" collection includes 10 watches, each priced at $1 million.
    To create these pieces, three of the most complex setting techniques have been used: invisible setting, Clou de Paris setting and rail setting. The figures speak for themselves: 653 black baguette diamonds totalling 41.84 cts (full black diamond version), 653 baguette diamonds totalling 40.02 cts (full white diamond version), 653 baguette diamonds and blue baguette sapphires totalling 40.41 cts (blue sapphire version), or 653 baguette diamonds and baguette rubies totalling 40.93 cts (ruby version).

    For the first time at Hublot, the bezel is set with invisible inverted trapeziums. It is the most complex part to set using this method, as there is no material between the baguettes.
    On each piece, the colour of the flange on the bezel recalls the colour of the indices and the strap push-pieces.
    In another first, the counter surrounds on the dial are also stone-set. The complete dial, including the stone-set indices, comprises 62 baguettes.
    The piece features a total of 132 baguettes with invisible setting, 127 set on a rail and 394 with a Clou de Paris setting.

    The watches house the HUB 1242 UNICO movement developed and manufactured in-house, with automatic flyback chronograph, column wheel and double
    clutch visible on the dial side, and 72-hour power reserve.

    A black alligator strap, equipped with a deployant buckle in white gold and set with 33 black baguette, completes the watches.

    Each photo bears Hublot's symbol for the FIFA World Cup: a football painted and decorated by the artist Romero Britto, a Brazilian painter and sculptor whose work combines elements of Pop Art, Cubism and graffiti. This ball links all those involved in the project with the official watches of the FIFA World Cup, which are presented in cases in the shape of the football decorated by Britto.

    The photos were taken by Fred Merz, a Swiss freelance photographer who lives in Geneva. Renowned and much in demand for his portraiture talents, Fred Merz casts an aesthetically

    Dedicated to supporting AIDS research, HIV prevention and treatment education, amfAR is one of the world's leading nonprofit organizations. After partnering with the Foundation in New York, Hublot repeated its commitment as one of the three main partners of amfAR for this year's event held on Saturday, September 21st at the Palazzo La Permanente Palace in the heart of Milan, Italy.
    For this occasion, Hublot has donated the Big Bang Costa Smeralda. It is one exemplar of a special limited edition of just 100 watches, created as a tribute to the 50th Anniversary of the Costa Smeralda, one the most famous, exclusive and luxurious locations in the world, situated on the Mediterranean island of Sardinia.
    The case and bezel of the Big Bang Costa Smeralda are made of polished and satin-finished 18K red gold. The polished 18K red gold grid is set with 319 diamonds for a total of 1.49 carat. The matte white dial is printed with logo "Costa Smeralda".
    Hublot has kindly offered a second watch from the "Costa Smeralda" limited edition, to satisfy both "pretenders", gathering this way a double sum for the cause of amfAr.

  • Hublot - On Monaco helipads

    This unique and innovative initiative, coinciding with the Grand Prix weekend, was developed and led by the company Monacair, the official transporter of HSH the Sovereign Prince Albert II of Monaco.     Here we are, three and a half years since the Hublot manufacture opened at Nyon in Switzerland.
    Presenting the BIG BANG UNICO!
    Unveiled today, this new piece is the first in a new line of products designed to house all future incarnations of the UNICO movement.
    The iconic design of the Big Bang has evolved to contain the UNICO, a column wheel chronograph movement with a dual horizontal coupling visible on the dial side, designed, developed and produced entirely within the Hublot manufacture workshops. The result, presented here in its 4 best-selling versions - will mark the start of a new line of Hublot products designed to complete the Big Bang, Classic Fusion, King Power and Masterpieces ranges.
    The design of the Big Bang Unico features a powerful 45.5 mm diameter case for a stylish mechanical look, and a bezel secured by 6 H-shaped screws with a new, subtle and more technical design (the head of each screw is now in relief, allowing the application of alternating polished and matt finishes). A notable feature is the new design of the crown, which is screw-down with overmoulded rubber and decorated on the end with the famous H from the Hublot screw. For the very first time since the creation of the Big Bang in 2005, the push-buttons are round. Each one is protected by a push-button guard integrated in the middle and finished like an engine piston. The sharp angles and intelligent sandwich system have been retained in the case design, but the strap attachment has been significantly optimised: It features the now famous "One click" system which allows the wearer to switch between a wide choice of straps - each watch is supplied with a structured and ribbed natural rubber strap (also new) which perfectly matches the endpieces of the middle. Finally, the movement is revealed thanks to a skeleton dial featuring the famous indexes and Arabic numerals, redesigned to give them more volume (and hollowed out and filled with SuperLuminova™), as well as two counters "encircled" by a polished ring, one for the minutes positioned at 3 o'clock and the other at 9 o'clock for the small second; the date window is visible at 3 o'clock. The hands have also been reworked, facetted on two levels and filled with Superluminova™.


    The UNICO manufacture movement is brand's signature chronograph movement. And that is why it was chosen. It has been entirely designed, developed, machined and assembled by micro-mechanics, engineers and watchmakers at Hublot. The movement is a flyback chronograph which can be reset at any time, and which is unique in the watchmaking industry, two push-buttons, with date indicator, and featuring a uniquely positioned mechanism with dual coupling and the famous "column wheel" visible on the dial side.
    Its development required a completely original approach and thinking outside the box: For example, the hour counter is driven directly by the barrel, and there is no jumper in the chronograph mechanism. This simplification boosts reliability and robustness. Its pallet fork and escapement wheel are fixed to a removable platform and are made from silicon, whose lightness provides a guarantee of performance. Its construction, which incorporates just 330 components, has been simplified as much as possible in order to further increase robustness. This result is the fruit of continual adjustments made since 2009, the year it was launched, which have been carried out jointly by the technical office, the laboratory and the after-sales service in the manufacture. Its frequency of 4hz/28,800 vibrations per hour and its immaculate finish are also a guarantee of high chronometric quality. Finally, its automated production, which includes automation of the machining, stone fitting, oiling and numerous assembly operations also ensures consistent, controlled quality. Its power reserve is around 72 hours.
    In short, the entire piece has been conceived and designed to reflect Hublot's pure DNA: sport, performance and technology. No useless gadgets. The design is stylish, practical and rational.

  • Hublot - Limited edition Hublot King Power "305"

    Luxury Swiss watchmaker, Hublot, celebrated the unveiling of its new, limited edition Hublot King Power "305" Timepiece on Wednesday, September 26, at W South Beach Hotel & Residences. The unveiling and launch party, with special guest and Miami Heat DJ, DJ Irie, featured a 30-foot video wall, catering by famed culinary experts at W South Beach Hotel & Residences, free-flowing Dom Perignon champagne, support from The Collection and Ferrari, and an official unveiling announcement from Miami Heat's Udonis Haslem, Rick De la Croix, Hublot President of the Americas and Hublot's CEO, Ricardo Guadalupe, in town from Switzerland to support Hublot's newest collection and the brand's continued growth in the United States.

    The King Power "305" Collection is a special edition timepiece, limited to just 40 pieces, and specially developed to honor "The Gateway to the Americas." The watch is white and ocean blue to evoke the sand and sea of South Florida, and engraved with "305" to represent the city's well known area code. In addition, the 48 mm-diameter watch is made from King Gold, which is 18 carat gold with 5% platinum, and lends to its distinctive red color. The watch's solid case-back, also in King Gold, is engraved with a view of Miami's South Beach and the number "305." The blue Hornback alligator strap, stitched onto white rubber, completes the watch. Another version of the collection, set with 374 white diamonds and totaling approximately 3.34 carats, is also available in an extremely limited run of 10 pieces.


    Hublot opened its first U.S. store in Bal Harbour, FL, in December 2011 and has since partnered with a variety of celebrities, charities and sports teams, including signing as the official watch of the Miami Heat during the 2011 championship season. Hublot is scheduled to open its newest U.S. boutique in Atlanta in October 2012.

    Following on from Oman at the end of February, Hublot came aboard the Extreme 40 Alinghi for Act 2 of the Extreme Sailing Series, to be held in Qingdao in China from 17 to 20 April.
    And in the first weekend in May all eyes will be on Geneva for the race debut of the Decision 35 Alinghi. To mark this occasion, Ernesto Bertarelli and Jean-Claude Biver will unveil together the Alinghi watch created in tribute to this partnership.
    This will take place on 4 May, after the regattas, at the Societe Nautique de Geneve.

This new full carbon series - a material similar to that used in boat manufacture - is an extension of the first series that found dazzling success.

    The twelve unique timepieces bearing the album artwork of Depeche Mode's legendary studio albums were all sold in an online auction which ended last night. All proceeds from the sale will be presented to the Teenage Cancer Trust in Dusseldorf during the penultimate concert of Depeche Mode's "Sounds of The Universe Tour" on 26 February. Patrizzi & Co and Internet auction host services Liveauctioneers.com donated both their time and energy in providing a secure state of the art, online bidding system coupled with an unparalleled global auction service and expertise.
    In support of the Teenage Cancer Trust, Depeche Mode and Hublot joined forces to produce the twelve exclusive boxed sets. Inside each presentation box was a treasure trove of exclusive Depeche Mode materials personally chosen by the band. Each watch presentation case contained:

    - A USB Key containing a digital edition of the album and documentary about the making of the album
    - An original album artwork print and a framed gold CD.
