  • TAG Heuer - First store in Panama

    The ribbon cutting ceremony was attended by the management of TAG Heuer with the presence of Henri Monti, Sales Director for Latin America and Sabrina Bergopsom Marketing Director, and Roberto Neira General Manager of Motta International, the partner of the brand since its inception in the country over 20 years ago.

    The new boutique bears the latest TAG Heuer design concept which expresses its four universes (sports, lifestyle, art, heritage and Swiss know-how) through the use of prestigious and avant-garde materials with a blend of warm and chic colors. Using a succession of strata to break up the walls with giants visuals of the brand's ambassadors, it creates an entirely vibrant new way of showcasing its products.

    It is the 6th boutique in Latin America and the 169th worldwide, and completes the wide spread international retail network at the premium locations (Geneva, Paris Champs- Elysees, New York City 5thAvenue, Ginza, Singapore Orchad Road, Hong Kong Times Square…) of the Swiss Avant-Garde luxury watchmaker.

    When entering the store, the guests were magnetized by the unique Carrera Mikropendulum epitomic timepiece regulated by electromagnetic field instead of traditional gears and the TAG Heuer 2015 novelties such as TAG Heuer Carrera 1887 with blue dial.

    The opening of the store will be celebrated with the general public through the motor racing exhibition which will take place from April 29th to May 2nd 2015 in front of the new store at ground level of the Multiplaza Pacific Mall. During the 4 days, the mall goers will be able to enter in a daily competition to attempt to be on the podium and to be rewarded with a prize from the brand.

  • Ralph Lauren - Luc Perramond

    Luc Perramond gained a diploma in business administration at Paris Dauphine University and an MBA in finance and international business at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. After completing his studies he became an associate consultant at Booz Allen & Hamilton before entering the watchmaking world. In 1988 he was employed by TAG Heuer to head up its American division, and subsequently held a number of senior positions with the brand.
    In 1999 Luc Perramond was involved in the brand's sale to the LVMH group, and was appointed vice-president of LVMH Watches & Jewelry, leaving in 2001 to set up a consultancy business. In 2003 he joined Brazilian jeweller H. Stern as its president for Europe and Asia, and in 2009 he moved to La Montre Hermes to become its CEO.
    At the end of 2014 Luc Perramond was appointed CEO of Ralph Lauren Watch & Jewelry Co.

    Guy Semon joined the French Navy in his youth, where he trained as a jet pilot. Science was his predominant interest and he left the navy to work as a researcher for the French Ministry and a lecturer and researcher at the University of Franche-Comte. There, he completed his doctorate in physics and engineering science.
    Since then his experience impressively grew as he researched and published his work in the fields of mathematics and optics for notable institutions including Boston and Rotterdam Universities. It was also during this time that the University of Franche-Comte gave him the task of setting up and managing their new Physics of Energy Laboratory.
    In August of 1995 he started his own company, employing 5 highly qualified engineers and specializing in flight simulation. At that time, he was exploring new technological fields, specializing in new materials and was invited by a number of industrial companies to help with their corporate campaigns (industrial reorganization, integration of new technologies, launches, air risk analysis, etc…).
    Finally, Guy Semon met TAG Heuer by chance in Switzerland in 2004, at a time when the company was interested in manufacturing the smallest belts in the world! This was the beginning of an intensive and fruitful collaboration that led to the production of the Monaco V4 watch, and to the establishment of the TAG Heuer R&D Centre that Guy Semon has led since January 2008.
    The objective of the Tiempo de Relojes 2013 Special Award is to expressly recognize a timepiece that may have gone unnoticed throughout the season and that deserves to have public recognition for its intrinsic value, technical innovation, and for setting trends, among other criteria.
    The Tiempo de Relojes Awards initiated in 2007 in line with the first edition of Salón Internacional Alta Relojería (SIAR). The awards were established to commemorate October as the month to celebrate the best watches of the season. A jury of journalists specialized in watchmaking and jewelry expertise are responsible for identifying which Brands and which timepieces will be nominated in the different categories. It is the same court that, once the nominees are published, chooses the winners. The criteria depend on the category and include: clockwork precision, concept, aesthetics, ethics, infinitesimal calculations, inspiration, historical value of the timepiece in relation to the past, substantial improvements in the portfolio of a Brand, and the significance of the timepiece in its category.
    Specifically the Tiempo de Relojes Special Award is usually awarded to a company or a timepiece, but this year, for the first time in its history, it was awarded to a person.
    To date, Guy Semon has contributed to significant innovations and technology for the watch industry including masterpieces such as the Monaco V4, Mikrotimer, Mikrotourbillon S that was presented this year, and the Mikrogider that won the world's most coveted watchmaking award, the Geneva Watchmaking Grand Prix "Aiguille d'Or" in 2012.

  • TAG Heuer - Museum-quality collection auctioned at Bonhams

    Bonhams, one of the world's oldest and largest auctioneers of fine art and antiques, presented and auctioned the Arno Haslinger Collection of rare Heuer timepieces on Wednesday 15th December 2011 in its New Bond Street salesroom in London.
    Several timepieces sold for much more than expected. The timepiece which achieved the highest selling price was an extremely rare 1974 Monaco with black PVD coated case, which sold for £48,000 (estimate: £10,000-£15,000). Other top pieces included £30,000 for a 1969 Autavia (estimate £10,000-£15,000) and £22,800 for a 1972 Carrera in 18ct gold (estimate £7,000-£9,000).


    The sale, which helped raise funds for Green Cross International, was part of TAG Heuer's 150th Anniversary celebrations. A special photo session was held on December 13th, followed by a private cocktail for collectors, journalists and special guests on December 14th.
    The collection of 81 watches included many of TAG Heuer's most iconic models, including rare editions of the Silverstone, Autavia, Carrera, Daytona and Monaco. TAG Heuer purchased several pieces that were missing from its own collection, including an extremely rare "Chronomatic" Carrera, which will go on display at the TAG Heuer Museum in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland.


    The Swiss watchmaker also created a unique red, Jack Heuer, Silverstone Calibre 11 Chronograph especially for the auction. Estimated at £5,000-£7,000, which sold for £10,000. The dial on the special piece is inscribed with the signature of Jack Heuer, the Honorary Chairman of TAG Heuer and the man responsible for the original Silverstone design of 1974. All proceeds from the Silverstone Calibre 11 Chronograph sale were donated to Green Cross International — an organisation closely supported by TAG Heuer through their brand ambassador Leonardo DiCaprio. The charity was founded in 1993 under the initiative of Mikhail Gorbachev to help ensure a sustainable and secure future.
    TAG Heuer's long association with motorsports — it celebrates "15O Years of Motor Racing" in 2011 — was bly evident in the collection. Many of the models were worn by TAG Heuer-endorsed racing drivers such as Jo Siffert, Clay Regazzoni, Jim Clark and Jacky Ickx. Highlights included a Viceroy Autavia issued by the Israel Defence Force; a 'Jo Siffert' white dial Autavia; vintage 'Steve McQueen' Monacos like those seen in the classic film Le Mans; and Indy 500 Carreras.
