TAG Heuer - Mastering Speed for 150 years
This December, TAG Heuer marks the end of the motor racing season and its yearlong "Mastering Speed for 150 Years" celebration with high-profile participation in two of the sport's most prestigious events — the 24th Race of Champions in Dusseldorf (ROC), Germany and the ERDF Masters Kart in Paris-Bercy, France.
The Race Of Champions runs December 3rd & 4th and the ERDF Masters Kart December 10th & 11th. TAG Heuer, the number-one watch brand in motorsports, is the Official Watch at both events, and the Official Eyewear of the ERDF Masters Kart. Its patented timekeeping equipment, accurate to 1/10,000th of a second, will provide official time.
"With these two back-to-back partnerships, TAG Heuer reaffirms its pole position," said Jean-Christophe Babin, President & CEO of TAG Heuer. "In F1 with Vodafone McLaren Mercedes and their drivers Lewis Hamilton & Jenson Button, World Rally Championship with Sebastien Ogier, Indy 500 as official watch, Le Mans 24h with Audi Sport and Monaco Grand Prix as official partner, and now Karting: we are the undisputed N°1 watch brand of motor racing."
RACE OF CHAMPIONS: The Racing World's Final Showdown
The Race Of Champions pits top drivers from every discipline, including Formula 1, world rally, touring cars, Le Mans and NASCAR, in two-on-two and one-on-one competitions in identical cars on a specially constructed parallel track. Drivers pair up for the ROC Nations Cup, this year scheduled for Saturday, December 3, before the individual Race Of Champions takes place on Sunday 4 December.
TAG Heuer is the official partner, official chronograph and official timekeeper for the Race of Champions for the 7th time. The Race Of Champions drivers' line-up will celebrate 10 Formula 1 World Champion titles: 7 for Michael Schumacher, 2 for the brand-new double World Champion Sebastian Vettel and 1 for TAG Heuer Ambassador Jenson Button.
ERDF Master Kart: 100% Electric & Electrifying
As part of its ongoing support for sustainable alternatives, TAG Heuer is newly partnered with ERDF Master Kart, the world's first international indoor electric karting race. The race takes place in the famous Paris-Bercy arena and stars 20 drivers from F1, Rally, Endurance and the top 10 Junior drivers from the current kart scene. TAG Heuer's crest and colours will be visible in the arena and in on-screen credits, and a countdown to the race powered by TAG Heuer is featured on the ERDF Masters Kart website, www.erdf-masters-kart.com.
This is the second major event that TAG Heuer has backed using 100% electric 4-wheel vehicles. In 2010, the Swiss brand partnered with Tesla Motors to create the TAG Heuer Tesla Roadster for the "Odyssey of Pioneers" — the first-ever round-the-world tour by an electric car. "It's an honour to welcome TAG Heuer back to the ERDF Masters Kart," said Philippe Streiff, producer of the event. "I remember the first year of the Masters in 1993, when Ayrton Senna was behind the wheel of a fully-branded TAG Heuer kart."
