Inspired by Ralph Lauren's own love of travel and international exploration, the Ralph Lauren Sporting World Time watch offers a complication that is itself an invitation to travel. At the turn of a crown, 24 cities display the sequence of time around the globe and accompany you in journeying through the world of Ralph Lauren.

Inspiration
In 1884, the International Meridian Conference in Washington decided to divide the Earth into 24 time zones, with the Greenwich meridian as longitude zero. In order to enable simultaneous readings of the time in several time zones, watchmakers have since devised and created a number of different horological complications. Among versions ranging from twin hour hands to world-time displays, the Sporting World Time features one of the most sought-after features in the watchmaking industry. With an engraved disc displaying all 24 time zones, the Sporting World Time model also offers a day/night indicator, a power-reserve display and a calendar. From New York to Paris, London to Hong Kong and Moscow to Tokyo, the Sporting World Time evokes the art of travel by allowing its owner to circle the globe at the turn of a crown.
The Sporting World Time offers a response to a growing interest and taste among citizens of the world for indulging in various leisure activities involving both sports and discovery. Subtly blending timeless elegance and functional attributes, the Sporting World Time is a long-distance traveling companion designed to reflect a perpetually moving world.

Form & Functionality
The Sporting World Time watch offers a stainless steel version with an elegant yet relaxed look and feel. Enhanced by a bezel featuring six functional screws, this classic model is distinguished by a dial bearing Roman numerals and railroad-style minute track. This timepiece is crafted in a 45 mm stainless steel case water-resistant to 100 meters and fitted with a cobalt blue alligator strap and a matching pin buckle.

Combined with a day/night indicator, the watch simultaneously displays the local time and a second time zone selected from a disc engraved with the names of 24 cities. Its shimmering deep blue varnished dial is enhanced by a bright red second hand.

Beating at a frequency of 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour) and endowed with a 40-hour power reserve, the Caliber RL939 was developed by Jaeger-LeCoultre for Ralph Lauren.

As the official partner of the 2012 Abu Dhabi Film Festival, Jaeger-LeCoultre hosted a private gala dinner on October 13th at Etoiles at Emirates Palace attended by numerous talents and international guests to unveil the brand's new ladies collection: the Rendez-Vous.

Online bidding was held on March 12-15, 2012 and the winning bid reached 11,220 euros. This collector will now have the pleasure of being the proud owner of a unique timepiece.
Within the framework of its partnership with the International Herald Tribune and the UNESCO World Heritage Centre, Jaeger-LeCoultre held its 4th annual online auction of a unique watch. The proceeds from the sale will be entirely donated to the protection of an exceptional marine site in the Philippines that is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Marine Programme.

This year the proceeds of the Deep Sea Vintage Chronograph sale will be donated to the Puerto-Princesa Subterranean River National Park in the Philippines that features a spectacular landscape with its underground river that emerges directly into the sea. The area represents a significant habitat for biodiversity conservation. The site contains a full "mountain-to-the-sea" ecosystem and protects some of the most significant forests in Asia. The proceeds from the auction will contribute to acquiring the equipment and materials that will assist the site with a regular monitoring programme toward evaluating the state of conservation of its exceptional marine value.
The prototype N°1 of the Deep Sea Vintage Chronograph is a fully functional original timepiece hand-crafted by watchmakers of the Manufacture Jaeger-LeCoultre.

From 1950s Jaeger-LeCoultre provided the first explorers of the marine depths - whether driven by scientific goals or by a thirst for discovery - with a timepiece that exceeded their demands. Through the different versions introduced until the early 1970s, the Memovox Deep Sea became one of the rare watchmaking creations to leave an indelible imprint on its era. In 2012 the Manufacture Jaeger-LeCoultre offers the Deep Sea Vintage Chronograph, a remarkable reinterpretation of a legendary watch.
The latest creation from the Grande Maison in the Vallee de Joux is bound to thrill devotees of legendary models wishing to pay tribute to a longstanding tradition of innovation in the most diverse disciplines, yet without foregoing the comfort and reliability ensured by the latest generation of Jaeger-LeCoultre calibers. The stainless steel case of the Jaeger-LeCoultre Deep Sea Vintage Chronograph is inspired by the design codes of an iconic creation, the back bears the same engraved motif as the historical model, depicting a frogman surrounded by bubbles. This watch driven by Jaeger-LeCoultre Calibre 751G incorporates the latest developments stemming from Jaeger-LeCoultre's ongoing research. The embossed black calfskin leather strap looks exactly like the one fitted on the original.

The famous watch exhibition Viennatime took place in Museum MAK during November 11-13, 2011, where the watch industry presented its novelties to a large audience.  One week before, the same exhibition opened its doors in Munich, the Munichtime.  Thousands of watch lovers visited both exhibitions and voted for the "Watch of the Year" in 6 different categories.

The awards were presented during the traditional Watch Gala at the "Aula der Wissenschaften" in Vienna on the 6th of December.
