The Global Champions Tour sponsored by Jaeger-LeCoultre, is an international showjumping championship which gathers world's top riders and horses who compete for glory and the highest prize money in the sport. The final event of the GCT season will be held in UAE, in the home country Sheikh Shakboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan from 22-24 November at the Al Forsan International Sports Resort. Sheikh Shakboot said equestrian sport is followed passionately in the UAE where it is a deep part of the ancestral culture and tradition.
Nobility, speed, accuracy and impeccable dexterity are the principles that have consistently inspired the rules in both show jumping and the watchmaking art.
During their visit to the Grande Maison the show-jumpers followed the process of creation of iconic products such as the Atmos clock and the Jaeger-LeCoultre's Reverso that celebrated last year its 80 th anniversary since its creation as a ground-breaking concept of a robust and elegant sports watch. Jaeger-LeCoultre offers its iconic Reverso watch to the winner of each series of the Global Champions Tour Tournament. Each Reverso awarded as a prize is unique thanks to the special engraved design on the back of the swiveling case, that captures the special moment forever and makes one's watch a treasured piece of personal history to wear.
A walk in the factory through different areas of craftsmanship where the process of creation is never ending was followed by a tour of the museum of Jaeger-LeCoultre's watchmaking history that goes back to 180 years.
With the world No1 female rider Edwina Tops-Alexander, Jaeger-LeCoultre friend, and RolfGöran Bengtsson in an extraordinary battle for the championship, the last event of 2012 could not be more dramatic. For the second year the Al Forsan International Sports Resort will host this final. The talented young Emirati Sheikh Shakboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan is planning to ride his stallion Muscaris and says the horse is in "very good shape". He will also be jumping his gelding Valentino Balia in the 5* classes.
