  • TAG Heuer - Carrera Calibre 18 - Automatic Chronograph

This year, TAG Heuer launches two Carrera timepieces, each sporting a vintage look and the iconic Heuer logo. Following the presentation of the Carrera Calibre 6, COSC certified, we introduce today the Carrera Calibre 18 - Automatic Chronograph.

The vintage look and shape of this new black and silver chronograph, is based on Jack Heuer's Carrera design. That makes it look like the original two-counter Carrera of the sixties, with the black chronograph counter at nine o'clock and the second one at three. It is not a standard chronograph, it has a telemeter scale on the flange, an old tool imagined for military, to measure distance of artillery fire, based on the speed of sound.

The black perforated leather strap along with the shape of the push-buttons as well as the small 39 mm-dial enhance this retro taste. The clasp of the strap is signed by the engraved Heuer logo, making it unique up to the tiniest details. To go further on this vintage vibe, the movement is placed under a glassbox, making the whole design look thinner. The calibre 18 and the Côtes de Geneve oscillating mass can be admired thanks to the sapphire back-case.

  • TAG Heuer - Cameron Diaz, New Brand Ambassador

TAG Heuer's newest brand ambassador Cameron Diaz appeared before delighted international press on the Rhine river banks the night before the opening of BaselWorld. Welcomed on stage by thunderous applause, she proudly displayed the new Link Lady.

"I am thrilled to be here in Switzerland to be a part of the launch of the Link Lady" said Cameron Diaz. "Throughout my career, I have been very selective about aligning myself with brands. I love the fact that TAG Heuer challenges the rules and thinks outside the box and I'm honoured to be associated with such an iconic and forward-thinking brand".
Cameron now joins the highly exclusive circle of TAG Heuer Ambassadors: alongside Maria Sharapova, she will champion timepieces dedicated to women, whilst Leonardo DiCaprio, who needs no further introduction, with Formula 1 World Champions Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button, Chen Dao Ming in China and Shah Rukh Khan in India, will support the models for men. Worthy heirs of Steve McQueen, they all have the ability to defy the rules and defy conventions, to fight for a cause and challenge their own values and assumptions; free-minded and rebellious to the very core, they give time new look, a new allure. Like TAG Heuer, they are pioneers, all in their own unique way. With her unorthodox body of work challenging every principle in the making of a star, Cameron Diaz is dangerously more than just a sexy blonde. Her partnership with TAG Heuer was therefore a given.

On her wrist the totally feminine Link Lady, the newest and most elegant of the TAG Heuer range. "I have been a fan of the TAG Heuer brand for many years. When they showed me the design for the Link Lady, I thought it was the perfect evolution of timeless watchmaking and iconic designs, all reinterpreted with glamour and elegance for a modern woman". The case is a little round pebble, refined and delicate. The bracelet is inspired by the iconic LINK bracelet with its S-shaped links. The dials come in several colours and the edges feature a light undulating concentric guilloche. Finally, as Cameron Diaz likes to point out, this is much more than a watch, it is a piece of jewellery.

  • TAG Heuer - F1 Lady Steel & Ceramic by Maria Sharapova

Women don't experience time the way men do. Men cut it up into fractions and sequences in order to visualize it, while women see it as a circular system, a poetic flow, an eternal return. For men, time is linear. For women, it is cyclical.
To please women, then, every object must be bestowed with the fullness, softness and emotion it deserves. Generosity and tenderness are essential. Design, not function, pleasure, not utility — these are paramount values. A watch doesn't just tell time; it must be an object of pure seduction.
The same is true for sunglasses. While a man will seek protection against UV rays combined with maximum utility, women seek, above all, style — a certain allure, the right curve for her face. The "look" first, then the performance.

When TAG Heuer asked tennis superstar Maria Sharapova to help design its first sunglasses for women and its new TAG Heuer Formula 1 ceramic watches, it wasn't because of her Grand Slam victories. Nor because she had been working closely with TAG Heuer for the last five years as part of a close circle of brand ambassadors. It was because she is a woman — a TAG Heuer woman — endowed with special qualities and the systematic approach that comes with the territory.
Since the beginning of her career, Maria has shown inimitable style: a star on and off the court, she casually combines the mental strength of a great athlete with the playful frivolity of a true fashion buff. Except she doesn't follow trends, she starts them. This is reflected in the things she wears, like her TAG Heuer sunglasses and her TAG Heuer watch: with her, the essential becomes pure pleasure, and seduction inspires both substance and form.
TAG Heuer Formula 1 Lady Steel & Ceramic

The 2005 launch of the Formula 1 Diamonds watch represented a giant challenge for TAG Heuer, which until then had primarily targeted the men's market. Today, however, the feminine market represent 30% of TAG Heuer's overall turnover. The ceramic additions to TAG Heuer Lady F1 line provide new opportunities in this growing sector.

Ceramic is a multisensory material, soft and warm yet unalterable: like a diamond, it cannot be scratched. b and exquisite, it is especially appealing to women. Combined with stainless steel, it creates a sublime bracelet with butterfly clasp — perfect for the most delicate wrist. The bezel on the jewelled version sparkles with 60 diamonds. The black edition is perfect for night on the town; the white, for anytime and anyplace.

For total star power, opt for the fully set bezel version with a new bracelet in ceramic and steel — the ideal accessory for those seeking something different, not overly showy or ostentatious, and always in the best of taste, no matter the circumstance.
Lady TAG Heuer Sunglasses Designed by Maria Sharapova
Launched in 2002, the TAG Heuer line of eyewear frames quickly established itself as a style leader in the male market for its innovative and ultra-light design. It gives men tired of fashion-brand clutter something more, or rather, less: straight, clean, simple lines and the ultimate in high-tech performance. Among those looking for substance over brand-name logos, the line found a loyal following.
We knew repeating this success with women was going to be a challenge, so once again we turned to Maria Sharapova tried and true source of style advice, and once again, she rose to the challenge. When it comes to fashion, Maria Sharapova doesn't need a coach; she has always been way ahead of the game. Her approach to eyewear design reflected the boldness and brashness of her youth, and can be summed up in two short words: style first. A sleek and straight line on the top of the glasses immediately distinguishes them from the crowd. The sharp-looking thick frame gives the iconic aviator design a futuristic and sober look. The use of black acetate is totally trendy, and the taut lines in 3D-shaped stainless steel totally baroque. This is a star look, visually stunning, stripped down and sexy and seriously chic.
Avant-garde and impertinent, yes, but without the peerless technical specifications to back this up it wouldn't be worthy of the name TAG Heuer. The arm hinge, for example, is a decorative trim embellishment in racecar-grade stainless steel. The acetate, chosen for its superb smoothness, is mirror-polished by hand to ensure a perfect gloss. The signature is discreetly laser-etched on the glass, which is 100% UV protected.
The Lady TAG Heuer sunglasses are available in stylish black with gray or gradated lenses, or in three other trendy colour combos: summery ivory frame with blue lenses; tortoiseshell with brown lenses, and smartly chic dark plum with pink. Ultra-feminine, ultra-hip, ultra precise and ultra-comfortable, they extend the universe of TAG Heuer Eyewear well beyond the conventional.
    Los Angeles, July 12, 2009, 1pm - Photo Shoot
A gorgeous villa in Hollywood set the scene for Maria Sharapova's appointment with the TAG Heuer Eyewear R&D Team. It was a tense moment: the team had come to present their prototype to their project leader, who also happened to be one of the most glamorous women on the planet. Photographer Marco Grob, known for his portraits of musicians, and star stylist Becks Welch were standing by, along with their assistants, waiting for the poolside shoot that would follow the validation meeting. Maria Sharapova was on time as always — thanks to the scintillating TAG Heuer on her wrist. Blonde, statuesque and in high spirits, she swept into the room in a shiver of silks and took immediate charge. Even before the spotlights were turned on, her star presence lit up the room.

When the R&D team presented the prototype pair of sunglasses to their project leader it was love at first sight, so much so that Maria wouldn't take them off, and poor Sammy Mourabit, the makeup artist, had to work around them to apply the summery eyeshades chosen for the shoot onto Maria's green eyes. The world's highest paid athlete was then transformed into a sublimely beguiling top model; she posed demurely for the famous Swiss photographer, perched high on sandals of her own design, and decked out in a dazzling array of designer outfits.
The stunning fashion shots will be used for the launches of TAG Heuer Sunglasses Designed by Maria Sharapova and the new TAG Heuer Formula 1 Ceramic watches.
