  • TAG Heuer - Steve Nash Foundation Showdown

Some of the world's greatest NBA legends and soccer all-stars showed that they #DontCrackUnderPressure while playing in the Steve Nash Foundation Showdown, a sweet game of pick-up futbol last week in New York.
Sharing TAG Heuer's DNA for overcoming obstacles and a quest for ultimate precision, eight-time NBA All-Star and a two-time recipient of the NBA Most Valuable Player Award, Steve Nash brought his passion to play in this innovative soccer match.

Featuring NBA stars and soccer pros such as Alessandro Del Piero, Luol Deng, Matthew Dellavedova, Chris Mullin and Giuseppe Rossi amongst many more, the Steve Nash Foundation Showdown is a uniquely organic charity soccer match led by Nash himself that raises funds for critical needs services for kids.

TAG Heuer's iconic sport watch, the Aquaracer has been awardeded to those players that embody the brands #DontCrackUnderPressure mindset : the Spirit of Showdown Award went to Alessandro del Piero, the famous former soccer player from Juventus, and the Most Valuable Player Award to John Nash, Steve Nash's father. Steve Nash also received an Aquaracer.

  • TAG Heuer - Pop-up store

The TAG Heuer pop-up store - opened with its long-term partner and friend Kronometry1999 on Rue Allard in the heart of the village - invites visitors to discover the world of the "Swiss Avant-Garde since 1860" brand in a space entirely redesigned for its relaunch at the start of the 2015 season.

This temporary boutique will host the exclusive launch of the new watch presentation concept soon to be rolled out in all TAG Heuer boutiques worldwide. Developed in-house, it illustrates perfectly the brand's realignment, beautifully underscoring its four areas of expression: sport, lifestyle, art and Expertise&Heritage. Its taut, stylish lines also reflect the concepts of performance, innovation and avant-garde spirit espoused by the brand, as well as its mindset #DontCrackUnderPressure.

  • Ralph Lauren - Luc Perramond

Luc Perramond gained a diploma in business administration at Paris Dauphine University and an MBA in finance and international business at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. After completing his studies he became an associate consultant at Booz Allen & Hamilton before entering the watchmaking world. In 1988 he was employed by TAG Heuer to head up its American division, and subsequently held a number of senior positions with the brand.
In 1999 Luc Perramond was involved in the brand's sale to the LVMH group, and was appointed vice-president of LVMH Watches & Jewelry, leaving in 2001 to set up a consultancy business. In 2003 he joined Brazilian jeweller H. Stern as its president for Europe and Asia, and in 2009 he moved to La Montre Hermes to become its CEO.
At the end of 2014 Luc Perramond was appointed CEO of Ralph Lauren Watch & Jewelry Co.

  • Geneva Watchmaking Grand Prix 2014 - An interview with Stephane Linder, CEO of TAG Heuer

TAG Heuer won the Aiguille d'Or, the highest accolade at what is considered to be the Oscars of the watchmaking industry, in 2012. The prize was awarded to its innovative Mikrogirder timepiece, which introduced a new linear oscillator in the form of a girder rather than the conventional spiral-coiled hairspring found in most mechanical watches.

At the time, the award was TAG Heuer's eighth prize in the Grand Prix's 11-year history, but it was the first time that the brand scooped the prize for the best watch overall across all the categories of the competition.

Stephane Linder, who took over from Jean-Christophe Babin as the CEO of TAG Heuer just over one year ago when the latter moved on to Bulgari, explains the impact that this award has had on the brand and gives us a hint of his plans for this year's Grand Prix de l'Horlogerie de Geneve.

  • TAG Heuer - Carrera 5 Day-Date Automatic - 41mm

The very essence of the Carrera legend is fully expressed within the Carrera 5 Day-Date Automatic's 41 mm diameter. The quest for refinement is taken to extremes with the rose gold-plated hands, indexes, date window and logo, all delicately hand-fitted by our dial-making artisans. The polished and satin-brushed indexes accentuate the contrast with the hands, creating a highly readable dial - the trademark of the Carrera and a loyal tribute to Jack Heuer's original design.

The date window with its polished sides provides a simultaneous day-date display, while the entirely polished case may be fitted with an ergonomic bracelet featuring H-shaped links or an alligator leather strap for a more traditional look.

    Other models are available.

  • TAG Heuer - Cameron Diaz and Leonardo di Caprio in New York

A glamorous soiree in the iconic Cullman Hall of the Universe on Central Park West was the setting of a star-studded charity drive by luxury Swiss watchmaker TAG Heuer and its Hollywood brand ambassadors Cameron Diaz and Leonardo DiCaprio.

The exclusive event, held below the dramatic glass-cubed planetarium sphere in the American Museum of Natural History, brought together NY and Hollywood celebrities, business, fashion and media leaders from around the world and key figures of the international jet-set for a double-pronged charity push: to raise funds for the victims of Hurricane Sandy, and raise awareness for gender equality and the empowerment of women worldwide.
The 500 guests in attendance, many of whom flew in expressly for the high-profile event, were regaled by a special performance of the New York City Ballet, before dancing the night away to the music of New York's red-hot DJ Evalicious. For each guest, TAG Heuer pledged $100 to New York Cares' Hurricane Sandy Relief Fund, and a further $100 to Cameron Diaz's partner charity, UN Women (The United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women).
The event marks the first time that TAG Heuer Ambassadors Cameron Diaz and Leonardo DiCaprio combined forces for a TAG Heuer celebrity event. Welcomed on stage by thunderous applause, Cameron proudly displayed her new Link Lady Trilogy Limited Edition in steel, and was wearing a stunning Lanvin dress. On Leonardo's wrist, he wore the new Link Limited Edition with blue dial. On stage, TAG Heuer President and CEO Jean-Christophe Babin offered to Cameron a yellow gold version of the trilogy, an exclusive set of watch and jewelry.

TAG Heuer uniquely brings together the elegance of generosity and the essence of luxury, said Cameron Diaz, a TAG Heuer Brand Ambassador since last March and a longtime supporter of UN Women. I am very proud to be a part of their efforts to make the world a better and more beautiful place.
Our hearts and prayers go out to the victims of Hurricane Sandy, said TAG Heuer President and CEO Jean-Christophe Babin. Their resiliency in the face of such adversity is a true inspiration, as is the outpouring of support from communities worldwide. We're proud to support New York Cares as it is the largest local volunteer organization dedicated to supporting those impacted by this devastating storm.
During the prestigious place-to-be event, TAG Heuer showcased its new collection of limited edition LINK timepieces and jewelry. A benchmark of avant-garde design and ultimate comfort since 1987, the LINK's newest incarnations are: the Ladies' Link Automatic Watch, the first automatic watch for women offered in the LINK Lady line; the LINK LADY TRILOGY, a limited edition watch, ring and bracelet set co-designed by Cameron Diaz; and the LEONARDO DICAPRIO LINK CALIBRE 16 CHRONOGRAPH, a limited edition chronograph signed on its smoked sapphire caseback by Leonardo DiCaprio.
Profits from the sale of the stunning Link Lady Trilogy will go to support UN Women, while proceeds from the blue-dial LDC Limited Edition Link's sales will go to Leonardo DiCaprio's environmental charity partners, Green Cross International and the Natural Resources Defense Council ( NRDC).

  • TAG Heuer - Monaco V4 Titanium Ruthenium and Ceramic

With its super lightness, extraordinary tensile strength, corrosion resistance and ability to withstand extreme temperatures, titanium has become an essential building material in many high-tech industries, including luxury car manufacture, aviation, aeronautics and medicine. High processing costs and demanding know-how keep its usage limited to top-end industries.
TAG Heuer is a pioneer in its use in watchmaking, having mastered its manufacturing challenges. The brand's Research & Development team has now developed a process enabling the use of Titanium Grade 5, a special alloy used in aircrafts, turbines and surgical implants, in the case construction of its most avant-garde timepiece to date, the Monaco V4 Titanium Ruthenium and Ceramic.

A stunning tribute to the Swiss brand's 150 years of pioneering innovation, the Monaco V4 Next Generation Titanium Ruthenium and Ceramic is available in an exclusive edition of 200 pieces. The case is more imposing (41mm instead of 39mm) and made of Titanium-Grade 5, with fine-brushed silicon nitride "ceramic" inserts. The inserts visually lighten the squared shape of the watch, and the newly angled planes of the beveled crystal give the watch a more fluid and contemporary profile.
Other titanium components are the hand-applied faceted indexes on the dial, the minute and hour hands, the small second hand at 4 o'clock, the thermo-lacquered crown at 3 o'clock, and the strap's folding buckle. The strap itself is in ultra-soft, large-scale alligator, with anthracite hand stitching and a rubberized leather lining.
The V4 movement's avant-garde architecture, visible through the timepiece's anti-reflective sapphire crystal front and back, remains unchanged (tungsten ingot linear mass, two pairs of barrels in series, set in parallel and linked by belts), but the finishes have been completely revisited, with a high-resistance black ruthenium coating on the back plate and the Côtes de Geneve decorated bridges. The beautiful black juxtaposes superbly with the white "V4" and "TAG Heuer" engravings on the dial, and with the patented transmission and rewind white belts, now in high-contrast, high-tech white polymers exclusively developed for the new timepiece.

  • TAG Heuer - Carrera 1887 Wins "La Petite Aiguille"

The Grand Prix de l'Horlogerie de Geneve is the Swiss watch industry's most prestigious award competition. The prize of "La Petite Aiguille" rewards the best watch of the year whose price is under 5,000 Swiss francs ($5,166 USD). The victory marks the sixth time in 10 years that TAG Heuer has been singled out for its engineering and design prowess.
"This is great victory for TAG Heuer, and for our Honorary Chairman Jack Heuer," said Jean-Christophe Babin, TAG Heuer President and CEO. "Jack is the creative genius behind so many of our icons, among them the Monaco, the Silverstone and, of course the Carrera. He designed the first Carrera in 1964 and has overseen every new generation since. This new version celebrates that legacy. It's a "Grand Classique" re-invented for TAG Heuer's 150th Anniversary, faithful to the original in design and spirit, but with a radical new "engine" — the Calibre 1887 — which turns it into a 3rd Millennium chronograph in terms of size, quality, performance and accuracy."

The TAG Heuer Carrera 1887 chronograph was developed, and is currently produced and assembled in TAG Heuer's state-of-the-art facility in Switzerland.
Its star component is the Calibre 1887. A new contemporary mechanical chronograph movement, by TAG Heuer.
Not different but more efficient. A new classic in the Carrera tradition.

"The TAG Heuer Carrera 1887 Chronograph epitomizes TAG Heuer's pre-eminence in mechanical movement and case manufacturing," said Jack Heuer. "We spent 3 years engineering and developing the movement in a "all-under-one-roof" workshop equipped with avant-garde Swiss machines and robots capable of stamping, milling and finishing with to-the-micron precision. This state-of-the-art engineering allows for the production of a true "Manufacture" movement at a very competitive cost — a perfect embodiment of TAG Heuer's famous "fair cost/fair price" philosophy."

     Thank you to the jury.

  • TAG Heuer - Concept Watch without Balance Spring

    WORLDTEMPUS - 18 March 2010

The balance spring is one of the more critical components needed for portable timekeeping: its motion is tamed by the escapement, which portions it out to create the divisions needed for keeping accurate mean time. The balance spring was invented by Dutch physicist, geometer, and astronomer Christiaan Huygens in 1675.
At Baselworld 2010, TAG Heuer presents a major breakthrough in portable timekeeping: five years of research and development now allow TAG Heuer to introduce the first modern mechanical movement keeping time without the aid of a balance spring.

To understand this, one basic fact must also be understood: the energy of a mechanical watch movement goes through a metamorphosis by means of four basic operations: it is generated, stored, transmitted, and regulated. The regulation system generally comprises a balance wheel, balance spring, and escapement. Conventional watchmaking wisdom has always held that a mechanical watch without a hairspring would necessarily require another energy source for its regulation, such as a pendulum in a clock: the TAG Heuer Grand Carrera Pendulum concept sees the traditional hairspring replaced by an "invisible" or virtual spring comprising four high-performance magnets. The generated magnetic field provides the torque necessary for the alternating oscillations of the balance wheel. The movement built around this revolutionary oscillator is fully mechanical and does not contain any electronics.
This must-see invention is irresistible: oscillating at the high frequency of 43,200 vph (6 Hertz), it boasts significantly increased precision as well as stability thanks to the fact that it doesn't lose amplitude. This patent-pending concept is housed in a black titanium Grand Carrera case and will remain a "concept watch" for the time being.
