This Longines watch is wonderful but it is very big for a woman's watch and i have little wrist's. I feel you can't use it as dress or formal watch, it's more of a accessory;I have a the perfect fitting jeans on and boots and this watch will work, not too much flash.

I REALLY like this Longines La Grande Classique watch! I can't say love because it is a little too big for my wrist(even on the closest hole) and the metal closure digs into my wrist so I have to wear an arm band under it.

For almost a century, chronographs have been the core concern and primary passion of Eberhard & Co. Much like its La Chaux-de-Fonds headquarters inaugurated in 1907, an imposing building that towered over the centre of the watchmaking town for several years, the brand has historically been a dominant force in the production of this type of timepiece. In 1919, it launched the first wrist chronograph, and then in 1938 the first chronograph to feature an hours counter, followed the next year by the first chronograph enabling double timing by means of a new "split-seconds" device. In the wake of the quartz crisis, Eberhard & Co. remained as passionately dedicated as ever to this watchmaking genre, since it was the first back on the market with a mechanical chronograph.

During World War II, Eberhard & Co. with its Magini System watch, a split-second chronograph, was one of the two watch industry protagonists - along with Longines - contributing to a feat accomplished by the Italian air force: a secret flight from Rome to Tokyo and back achieved thanks to these two timepieces. During the latter half of the 20^th century, Eberhard & Co. launched several chronograph collections including the famous Extra-Fort, Contograf and Tazio Nuvolari lines.

Eberhard & Co. kicked off the 21^st century with another world-first, this time not on a technical level but rather in terms of design. Released in 2001, the Chrono 4 pioneered a new dial counter layout. Instead of previous arrangements involving counters at 3, 6 and 9 o'clock, and sometimes a fourth at 12 o'clock, this model featured four horizontally aligned counters. This patented design echoes that of racing car dashboards and has become an unmistakable signature feature of the Eberhard & Co. brand. 

30-minute and 12-hour chronograph counters, along with 24-hour and small seconds subdials, compose the line of four displays on the Chrono 4 model. Working on an ETA 2892 base calibre, the brand's makers developed the Eberhard & Co. system that lends a particularly dynamic touch to the functions of this sporty timepiece, complemented by the date at 12 o'clock and a tachymetric scale.

The Chrono 4 collection is interpreted in several sizes. The original 40mm model was enlarged to "Grande Taille" (43mm) and "Geant" versions respectively introduced in 2008 and 2010. While most of them have a steel case that underscores their sporting style, the 40mm models also come in pink gold. They feature a white, black or blue dial with tone-on-tone or contrasting counters and subdials, along with raised rims, luminescent hour-markers, dagger-shaped hands and a choice between a steel bracelet and a leather or rubber strap.
The Grande Taille steel models with a rubber strap are distinguished by rubber inserts on the screw-lock crowns and several versions are enlivened with colourful accents (counter hands, hour-markers, the tips of the hours and minutes hands), while a limited edition commemorating the 10^th birthday of the collection is recognisable by its large red Roman X numeral. .

The "Geant" versions stand out with their sturdy 46mm steel or titanium case, water-resistant to 200m and topped by a unidirectional rotating bezel. Last but not least, the line is topped in fierce style by a "Full Injection" limited edition: a dark carbon-coated steel colossus with an ultra-dynamic rubber strap, while nonetheless flaunting the elegance of a dial adorned with a Côtes de Geneve motif.

After inventing in-line counters, Eberhard & Co. came up with the idea of pivoting its counters to appear in a vertical line - and this time in a tonneau-shaped rather than a round case. 2005 thus witnessed the emergence of the surprising Chrono 4 Temerario with its counters arranged in a column on the right-hand side of the dial. This model also featured a patented access system to the crown, which opens by a lever hidden on the back of the case at 12 o'clock. 

The Chrono 4 collection is also enriched with Bellissimo creations that certainly live up to their name. These less sporty-looking models come with a slimmer 40mm case and more discreet pushpieces. The traditional white, black or blue dials are joined by an innovative new apricot shade that gives a distinctively vintage look to that particular variation, and all are graced with applied rhodiumed Roman numerals and cut-out hands. For the first time in the Chrono 4 collection, the Belissimo Vitre interpretations are fitted with a sapphire crystal caseback revealing the self-winding calibre. And finally, the luxurious Coeur Vitre version boasts a movement adorned with sophisticated hand-crafted decorations.

Longines has been since 2008 the Official Partner and Timekeeper of the Archery World Cup season. The tour started in May in Shanghai, China then visited Antalya, Turkey and Wroclaw, Poland. Athletes receive points for finishing in the top 32 at each event on the Archery World Cup circuit. At the fourth and last stage of the Archery World Cup in Medellin, Colombia, 32 elite athletes booked their invitations to the Mexico City 2015 Archery World Cup Final.

This sport represents the values that the brand cherishes - precision, tradition and elegance. To succeed, the athletes master bow and arrow through concentration, balance, accuracy, and skill. In Mexico City, the Official Watch of the event was a model from The Longines Master Collection. It features a silver-finished "barleycorn" patterned dial which makes an elegantly contrasting background to the moon-phase display.

To round up the Archery World Cup season, Longines presented the Longines Prize for Precision on Saturday 25, following the compound final. Female athlete Sara Lopez from Colombia and male athlete Mike Schloesser from the Netherlands were the most precise archers of the 2015 World Cup in the compound category. They have scored the most "10 rings" during the qualifications and the tournaments of the season. They each received a Longines Prize for Precision-trophy, a Longines watch and a cheque.

Longines supported the first edition of the Longines CSI St. Moritz as Title Partner and Official Timekeeper and presented at this occasion its new watch collection Conquest Classic Moonphase.

The new Longines CSI St. Moritz belongs to the most altitudinous show jumping events of Switzerland and Europe. The Longines Grand Prix of St. Moritz was won by Laura Kraut from the USA and her gelding Deauville S. She was followed Niklaus Rutschi (Switzerland) with Windsor and Kamal Abdullah Bahamdan (Saudi Arabia) with Noblesse des Tess. Laura Kraut received an elegant Longines watch from the brand's President Walter von Känel.

The Official Watch of the Longines CSI St. Moritz was a model of the Conquest Classic Moonphase line. This chronograph reflects at the same time the brand's presence in the most prestigious equestrian events all over the world and the importance it attaches to its watchmaking tradition. It houses a self-winding mechanical chronograph movement, a true symbol of precision and technique. Its refined silvered dial displays the moon phases.

The Prix de Diane Longines launching has taken place on 19 May, 2015, in the heart of the Bois de Boulogne. As Title Partner, Official Timekeeper and Official Watch, Longines joined France Galop to unveil the program of the 2015 edition.

The highlights of the day are the nine races including the Prix de Diane Longines, the world's top race for fillies, held during the afternoon on the Chantilly Racecourse. Longines will renew the Prix Longines Future Racing Stars where talented young jockeys from all over the world compete.
Moreover, amateur riders of the FEGENTRI (International Federation of Gentlemen and Lady Riders) will compete for the Prix de La Reine Marie-Amelie Longines.

Actress and former Miss World Longines Ambassador of Elegance Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will be present at Chantilly. She will be presenting the "Mademoiselle Diane par Longines" award during the afternoon to a young lady chosen for her outstanding elegance.
The venue of Aishwarya Ray Bachchan coincides with the launch event of the renewed Longines DolceVita collection, which will be garden party thrown by the Swiss watch brand in Chantilly on Saturday 13 June. The Official Watch of the Prix de Diane Longines is a new Longines DolceVita watch cased in steel, decorated with diamonds and featuring a silver-coloured "flinque" dial adorned with painted Roman numerals.
Finally, on Friday 12, Longines and the Fondation de Chantilly will inaugurate the temporary exhibition of artistic and historical photography called "Turf", which relates to the world of horse racing.

Longines' passion for equestrian sports dates back to more than a century. In 1878, the Swiss watch brand produced a chronograph engraved with a jockey and his mount. The Longines Equestrian Pocket Watch Horses Trio 1911 was inspired by a metal pocket watch kept in the Longines museum and produced in 1911.

This 18-carat rose gold pocket watch has a cleverly crafted background depicting a trio of horses. The heads of these three proud animals stand out against a background of delicately worked foliage. The plant motifs are repeated in the middle of the piece. This unusual model is produced in a very limited edition. Each copy is numbered.

With a diameter of 48.20 mm, this model features the L878.4 calibre with manual winding. This movement is developed exclusively for Longines. Its white dial is decorated with large black painted Arabic numerals and a minute circle. It displays the hours and minutes with elegant "Breguet"-type blued steel hands and there is a small seconds at 6 o'clock. The sides and the bow on this watch are finely crafted in imitation of the original model.

Today, Longines draws on its rich watchmaking history and reissues a a divers watch dating back to 1967, a copy of which is kept in the Swiss watchmaker's museum in Saint-Imier.
The divers watches of the time borrowed the pilot watch system, in particular their notched rotating bezel with divisions in minutes. This device makes it possible to calculate the length of the dive. The tachymeter scale of the internal flange is used to calculate the speed of the diver: the chronograph must be triggered at the starting point and stopped once the distance of one kilometre is completed. The hand will indicate the average speed.

With a diameter of 42 mm, The Longines Heritage Diver 1967 case houses a self-winding L688.2 movement. This chronograph features a completely original design, reflecting the model that inspired it. It's silver-coloured asymmetrical counters stand out against the black opaline dial.

The bordeaux graduated bezel and silver-coloured tachymeter scale of this model add elegant touches of colour to the overall piece. In the spirit of divers watches, the hands and hour markers are coated in Super-LumiNova® while the back and crown of the piece are screwed to ensure water resistance of up to 30 bar. The watches are fitted with a steel bracelet, black leather or rubber strap. An engraving of a diver adorns the caseback as a reminder of the first divers watches produced by Longines.
 

To further its long-term commitment with Meydan, Longines was once again the Presenting Partner, Official Timekeeper and Official Watch of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Endurance Cup, which took place in Dubai on 10 January 2015. This impressive international event featured some of the top names from the world of endurance riding competing over a distance of 160 km. The winner of the cup, HH Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, received, along with the trophy, an elegant Longines watch, the Longines 24 Hours Single Push-Piece Chrono. This stainless steel chronograph watch piece of the Heritage Collection houses a self-winding mechanical chronograph movement. Its refined black dial displays hours in a 24 hours scale, minutes and small seconds at 9 o'clock and date.

Longines is a significant partner of endurance riding. Besides the renowned HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Endurance Cup presented by Longines since 2010, the Swiss watch brand is also the title partner of the Longines FEI World Endurance Championships, which will take place in 2016. The discipline shares Longines' values of elegance, precision, reliability and a perfect mastery of technique.

To invite the best horse riders to compete in fourteen of the most beautiful cities around the world: that's the heart of the Longines Global Champions Tour. In 2013, Longines and this prestigious show jumping trial series concluded a long-term partnership. The Swiss watch brand has also become the Official Partner and Timekeeper for the Longines Global Champions Tour, thus opening up a new chapter in the history of equestrian sport. This agreement illustrates the seriousness of Longines' dedication to five-star outdoor show jumping events and perfectly represents the values and traditions shared by both parties.

On Saturday 15 November 2014, Rolf-Göran Bengtsson on Casall Ask won the Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix of Doha, one of the highlights of this stage. He therefore received an elegant Longines watch.
As the Doha leg marked the end of the season, the results obtained by the riders enabled the establishment of the final 2014 overall Longines Global Champions Tour Ranking classification. Scott Brash (UK) was declared winner of the Longines Global Champions Tour 2014, while Rolf-Göran Bengtsson (Sweden) arrived second and Ludger Beerbaum (Germany) third. To honour their successes, all three received distinguished Longines watches from the hands of Mr. Charles Villoz, Vice President of Longines.
 

As the Official Partner of the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG), Longines was the Official Timekeeper for the 45th Artistic Gymnastics World Championships, held in Nanning, China. During this world class event, the brand awarded the Longines Prize for Elegance to Kohei Uchimura (Japan), winner of the all-around title for the fifth year in a row and Yao Jinnan (China), silver medalist in the team competition. In addition, Longines Ambassador of Elegance Aaron Kwok came to congratulate the Chinese men's team on delivering a brilliant performance and winning the World Championships title.

Set up in 1997, the Longines Prize for Elegance is aimed at honouring the most elegant and charismatic sportswomen and men. Apart from purely technical considerations, the criteria applied by the jury are based on grace, harmonious movement and emotion during the performances. The winners of the Longines Prize for Elegance received a trophy, a Longines watch, as well as cheque worth US$ 5,000.

Symbolising the contemporary elegance of the brand, the Conquest Classic collection highlighted this important international competition in Nanning. Housing a mechanical calibre, the Official Watch of the event displays a white mother-of-pearl dial and 12 diamond indices. This magnificent timepiece in steel and rose gold cap is the perfect illustration of the famous Longines slogan: "Elegance is an attitude".

Longines first became involved in gymnastics in 1912, when it launched an innovative electro-mechanical timing system. For over twenty years the brand has been the official partner and timekeeper for artistic and rhythmic gymnastics competitions organised by the International Gymnastics Federation.

Glasgow witnessed the Closing Ceremony of the XX Commonwealth Games on Sunday 3 August 2014. Mr. Charles Villoz, Vice President of Longines, attended this great show in the company of Glasgow 2014 Chairman Lord Smith of Kelvin. To honour the success of the event and the great collaboration, Lord Smith of Kelvin was presented with a Longines timekeeping bell by Mr. Villoz, created especially for the Games.

Longines has been the Official Timekeeper and Watch of Glasgow 2014, the XX Commonwealth Games, as well as the Presenting Partner of the Gymnastics competitions. Over a period of 11 days of competitions, the Swiss watch brand put its skilled expertise in the service of the largest sporting event ever held in Scotland. It provided more than 190 timekeepers and 122 tonnes of equipment to support Glasgow 2014.

The Official Watch of the Games was a chronograph in steel from the Conquest Classic collection, housing an exclusive mechanical column-wheel calibre. With a diameter of 41 mm, its black dial is set with one arabic numeral and 11 applied indices with Super-LumiNova®. It displays the hours and the minutes, a small second at 9, a 30-minute counter at 3, a 12-hour counter at 6 as well as the date at 4:30. Just as the entire Conquest Classic collection, this timepiece is water-resistant to 5 bar and its screw-down case back is fitted with a sapphire glass.

Longines' involvement in the Commonwealth Games dates back to 1962, when it was the Timekeeper of the event in Perth, Australia.

On 14 June in the Grand Stables of the Princes of Conde, on the Chantilly domain, a jury including Longines Ambassador of Elegance Kate Winslet paid tribute to women who have dedicated their careers to the equine cause.

Sylvie Robert picked up the award for her contribution to the development of equestrian sport in Europe after the success of this year's Longines FEI World Cup Jumping in Lyon, for which she was in charge of the organisation.

Criquette Head-Maarek was awarded her prize in recognition for her contribution to the development of training and looking after a racehorse. Last year, her filly Treve was named World's Best Racehorse and ranked first in the Longines World's Best Racehorse Rankings at the end of the season.

Jing Li was recognised for her contrbution to the development of equestrian sports in Asia, and China in particular. She organised the first showjumping competitions with international riders in China, the Longines Equestrial Beijing Masters held at the Beijing Olympic stadium.

Bo Derek was honoured for her efforts in regards to equine welfare and safety in the United States, having worked closely with the Animal Welfare Institute and as an ambassador for the Breeder's Cup World Championships.

The Longines Ladies Awards are just one example of the brand's b involvement in the equestrian world, which dates back to 1878, when the company produced a chronograph engraved with a horse and jockey. 

As part of the Longines Heritage Collection, The Longines Column-Wheel Single Push-Piece Chronograph models recall the very first chronograph wristwatches created by the brand in 1933. These timepieces housed the 13.33z calibre, the first chronograph movement made by Longines to equip wristwatches.

The Longines Column-Wheel Single Push-Piece Chronograph model houses the L788 calibre, a monopusher movement developed by ETA exclusively for Longines and which, like its illustrious predecessor, is equipped with a column-wheel and measures 13¼ lines. All the chronograph functions can be controlled by simply pressing the single push-piece.

The Longines Column-Wheel Single Push-Piece Chronograph comes in three versions, all with a 40 mm diameter. Two versions, one in steel and one in rose gold, feature Arabic numerals, and a third version, also available in steel, displays Roman numerals. The single push-piece, inserted into the fluted crown, recalls the original timepieces. The white dials are adorned with painted black numerals and a red "12", in a direct reference to the dials of the period. They are completed by two counters, at 3 and 9 o'clock, together with a date aperture at 6 o'clock and blued hands.

The cases are a particularly interesting feature of these timepieces. Two of the models have a well-rounded case, available in steel and in rose gold. Taking its inspiration from an historic timepiece, the third model in steel is fitted with moving lugs. This version has a thicker case with a more angular profile. On all three versions, the movement's blue column wheel can be admired through the transparent sapphire crystal case back. All models of The Longines Column-Wheel Single Push-Piece Chronograph are fitted with a brown alligator strap.

Telemeter scales were initially introduced around 1852 to measure the distance travelled by sound. Activated right after the flash of lightening and stopped when the thunder is heard, the hand of the chronograph shows the distance in kilometres of the phenomenon.

The circular steel case with a diameter of 41 mm houses the caliber L688, a self-winding mechanical movement with a column-wheel chronograph mechanism exclusively developed for Longines, which can be admired through a transparent case back. The chronograph is equipped with a date aperture at 4h30, a small second at 9 o'clock, a 30-minutes counter at 3 o'clock and a 12-hours counter at 6.
Besides the appealing technical features, The Longines Telemeter Chronograph also attracts the eye by its harmonious design embodied by a subtle fusion of tradition and a contemporary spirit. The white lacquered dial with 9 black Arabic numerals features the red telemeter scale and a spiral tachymeter scale in the same colour. The blued steel Breguet hands, indicating hours and minutes, add a touch of elegance to this exceptional model fitted on a black alligator strap.

Located at the heart of the Longines head office in St-Imier, the Museum was completely refurbished in 2012 to mark the brand's 180th anniversary. It houses many treasures including a magnificent square timepiece that was the inspiration for the Longines Heritage 1968. The Longines Heritage 1968 is available in two sizes: 26 x 26 mm and 33 x 33 mm. The grey brushed dial features black, finely painted Roman numerals and a chapter-ring around the outside. A fine line of black varnish on the minute and hour hands echoes the lines of the numerals, providing a delicate contrast.
While the square case is at first glance more classical, the Longines Heritage 1968 reveals an interesting profile with its slightly bevelled glass that protrudes over the middle. Moreover, the trapezium-shaped date aperture lends the watch a fresh, avant-garde air that contrasts with the more stringent lines of the case.  The watch is fitted with a mechanical movement, L595 and the whole is mounted on an elegant black alligator strap. Also available in steel.
 

The day spent in Saint-Imier provided the Taiwanese actress and top model an opportunity to see for herself the various steps in the production of Longines's famed timepieces. A visit to the Longines Museum, fully renovated last year, proved one of the high points of a day full of emotion and discovery. Chi-Ling Lin was obviously fascinated by all the watches that have written the company's history.
A Longines ambassadress since 2005, Chi-Ling Lin embodies to perfection the Longines catchline "Elegance is an Attitude". Every hour of her visit and its various activities as well as her graceful distinction and wit delighted the people she met.
At the end of her visit, Chi-Ling Lin declared "It gives me great pleasure to be in Saint-Imier and in its superb Swiss mountainous countryside. I really enjoyed my visit to Longines. You can really feel the company's expertise and the history of a brand that has long defined the ideals of elegance".

This year, the famous Swiss watchmaker reprises its role as the official timekeeper for the International Ski Federation's (FIS) Alpine Ski World Cup and World Championship races.

Longines will be celebrating its return to Kitzbuhel and is extremely proud to be responsible once again for timing the Hahnenkamm races. Longines will also partner with the 16th KitzCharity Trophy. This season the brand launched the Longines Rising Ski Stars prize, which reflects the company's commitment to supporting young athletes. The official watch for the season will be the Longines Saint-Imier Collection chronograph, a model that exemplifies the links that bind the brand to the town where it was founded in 1832 and where its headquarters remains.
Longines' longstanding association with competitive skiing started in Chamonix in 1933. The Swiss watchmaker began timing the Hahnenkamm races in Kitzbuhel in 1948 and has carried out this task more than 50 times since then. In 2013 Longines, which is the official timekeeper for the International Ski Federation's (FIS) Alpine Ski World Cup and World Championship races, will be back in the popular Tyrolean resort. Kitzbuhel is well known for its demanding Streif piste - renowned as the most difficult and fastest on the circuit. Many great champion skiers have tackled this legendary piste where Longines has helped to develop the technical side of the competition for several decades, introducing a number of innovative ideas to improve the timing and the public's enjoyment of the race. In 1993, for example, Longines introduced a new technology whereby the racers' intermediate times could be shown on television alongside the time of the fastest competitor for comparison.

In addition to its role as official timekeeper, Longines will partner with the famous KitzCharity Trophy, a race where professional skiers compete against celebrities on a section of the Streif piste. In order to help the event raise funds to improve the life of local needy mountain farmers and their families, Longines will compete in the race with its own team of skiers, made up of Richard Strohmeier, Longines VP Finance and two Austrian celebrities, Armin Assinger and Matthias Lanzinger.
At the end of the 2012/2013 ski season, Longines will present its Longines Rising Ski Stars prize to the two leading young skiers who take part in the FIS Alpine Ski World Cup. The best female skier under 21 years-old and the best male skier under 23 will each receive a trophy, a Longines watch and a cheque for CHF 20,000. This new award reflects Longines' continued commitment to supporting young athletes. Launched in Adelboden at the beginning of 2013, the Ski Live - Live Alpine Skiing by Longines app offers the possibility of watching races in real time thanks to the live timing feature. The official watch for the season - the Longines Saint-Imier Collection chronograph - features the L688.2 column-wheel movement developed and produced exclusively for Longines. The 41 mm diameter case is made of steel and the black dial displays the hours and minutes with a small seconds at 9 o'clock, a calendar between 4 and 5 o'clock and of course the chronograph functions: a centre sweep seconds, a 30-minute counter at 3 o'clock and a 12-hour counter at 6 o'clock. This exciting event has been won by Roger Yves Bost (FRA) with Castle Forbes Cosma, in front of a very enthusiastic crowd.

Speed and precision are two words that perfectly describe this challenge. Roger Yves Bost with horse Castle Forbes Cosma have won the Longines Speed Challenge yesterday night at the Parc des Expositions, Paris Nord Villepinte. Gregory Wathelet (BEL) arrived second and Reed Kessler (USA) third. Created in 2010 by EEM World, the challenge facing competitors is to achieve the best time, with every bar knocked down adding a 2 second penalty. The winner is, therefore, the pairing that is both the quickest and the most precise. The format of the event ensures complete suspense, with the Longines Speed Challenge also being very attractive to the public, who can follow the time achieved by the competitors, in real time. Since they know the best time as the competitors leave the arena, each spectator can cheer on their favourite up to the end of the round.  

Already Title Sponsor of the Longines Hong Kong Masters (February 28th -  March 2nd, 2013),  the second round of the Indoor Grand Slam Indoor Masters organized by EEM World after Paris and before New York, Longines decided to strengthen its involvement in equestrian sports.

Saint-Imier / Dublin, 20th August 2012 - To round up the Nations Cup, the Swiss watch brand, which celebrates this year its 180th anniversary, awarded this distinction at the Dublin Horse Show, the final stage of the Longines Press Award for Elegance. Longines would like to congratulate them on their distinctive elegance as well as on their exceptional sporting performance throughout the 2012 Nations Cup season. Carsten-Otto Nagel (GER) won The Longines International Grand Prix of Ireland. Dermott Lennon (IRL) was named Longines Best International Athlete and also received the title of Best Irish Athlete.
Longines is proud to have served for the seventh consecutive time as official partner, timekeeper and title sponsor of The Longines International Grand Prix of Ireland at the Dublin Horse Show.

Among the best performing riders throughout the six previous CSIO events (La Baule, Rome, St. Gallen, Rotterdam, Falsterbo and Hickstead), Penelope Leprevost (FRA) on Mylord Carthago*Hn and Pius Schwizer (SUI) on Verdi III convinced the international jury of equestrian experts most with their incomparable elegance at the Dublin Horse Show.

I am happy if others see it the same way and I'm delighted to win the Longines Press Award for Elegance for the second time!" Under a mostly sunny sky, the Dublin Horse Show was very successful. Carsten-Otto Nagel (GER) has won the last Grand Prix Longines of the season and the titles of Longines Best International and Irish Athlete have been awarded to Dermott Lennon.

The Longines Column-Wheel Single Push-Piece Chronograph 180th Anniversary Limited Edition is closely based on the first wrist chronograph, manufactured by Longines in 1913 and fitted with calibre 13.33Z. The new model uses calibre L788, a column-wheel chronograph movement developed exclusively for Longines which enables the wearer to activate the various chronograph functions - go, stop and reset to zero - by simply pressing on the single push-piece integrated into the crown. Danedream and jockey Andrasch Starke won the Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe run over a distance of 2,400 meters at Longchamp racecourse in a record time of 2'24''49. Danedream, that had also captured the Longines Grosser Preis von Baden in September, easily won the race and broke the racecourse record time dating back to 1997. Longines has the honour of being the official timekeeper of this Parisian racecourse, where the prestigious race is run. Having renewed its involvement in International tennis in 2007, Longines is now entering the world of badminton this summer. The well known Swiss watch manufacturer whose history is closely linked with that of sports timing has just become a partner of the Indian Badminton Federation.
