     There will be a special aspect to the French Open Tennis Tournament in Roland Garros this year: Andre Agassi and Stefanie Graf will be present on 6 June to celebrate the 10th anniversary of their respective victories at this prestigious Parisian tournament. It is the ideal opportunity for Longines, the watchmaker for which they are Ambassadors of Elegance, to organise the event of the year around these two tennis legends and their charity foundations. Among other things the programme will include: 8 challenges between the two champions and budding stars from over ten different countries, a gala evening and a very special auction. The whole event will take place under the sign of elegance, the key characteristic of watches made by Longines, the Official Partner of Roland Garros since 2007. 


    Longines' history is closely linked to that of sports timing. As the Official Partner of the legendary French Open at Roland Garros since 2007, the brand has consolidated its links with the world of tennis by choosing Andre Agassi the same year and Stefanie Graf in 2008 as Ambassadors of Elegance. The couple share a love of excellence, elegance and beauty with the Swiss watch brand, together they embody the brand's values and slogan perfectly: "Elegance is an attitude". By supporting the respective charities of the two tennis legends Longines is once again reaffirming its humanitarian commitment.
    First of all, two Longines Smash Corners will be installed to mark the occasion, one within the grounds of Roland Garros and the other in front of the Paris Town Hall. The idea of the Longines Smash Corners is for the public to test their tennis skills by measuring the speed of their service. By paying 2 Euros each person will be allowed 3 attempts and will go home with a certificate to show their performance. Longines will donate the money collected at the Longines Smash Corners to the two former champions' charities, namely the Andre Agassi Foundation and Children for Tomorrow.
    Saturday 6 June 2009 promises to be a day of pure fun and excitement! The morning will be devoted to children. 16 budding champions of various nationalities will have the enormous honour of playing against Andre and Stefanie on the red sand of Roland Garros. The young players will be selected from countries ranging from France, Switzerland, Germany and Spain to China, Taiwan, Mexico, Singapore, Russia and Poland. Two will be chosen from the USA, namely from the Andre Agassi Foundation. The event will comprise eight matches featuring Andre Agassi against one child and Stefanie Graf against a different child. For every challenge, Longines will donate USD 10,000 to the foundation set up by the former tennis star who has won. There will be an audience of 650 people for the eight challenge matches.
    The tennis session will be followed by a photo shoot and a press conference. The press will thus be able to interview Andre Agassi and Stefanie Graf. During the press conference speeches will be given by members of the Swatch Group and Longines management.
    A new setting, a different atmosphere. A gala evening which promises to be one series of superlatives will be held in the majestic Pavillon Cambon Capucines. An entrancing setting, a dazzling guest list, tennis stars, celebrities from the world of show business and politics - nothing has been left to chance for what promises to be an unforgettable evening!
    The guests will be treated to the culinary specialities of one of the top Swiss chefs famed for his inventive dishes and the magic with which he updates traditional recipes. During the evening speeches will be given by representatives of Longines and the two charity foundations. The dinner will be followed by an auction of two Longines watches specially created to mark the occasion. The money raised from this auction will of course be donated to the Andre Agassi Foundation and Children for Tomorrow.
