    "Don't buy a Hublot watch, they are addictive. You would want to buy a second, then a third… And we would have to build a third building," Jean-Claude Biver joked yesterday to over 300 guests. Although we might well believe in the visionary spirit of the Chairman of the LVMH watches division and the Chairman of Hublot, things have not yet reached that stage and it was the second building - nicknamed H2 - that was opened in the presence of friends of the brand Pele, Bar Refaeli, Lapo Elkann, but also Michel Pont and the mayor of Nyon Daniel Rosselat, who stressed the town's pride of having the Hublot production facilities on its territory.

    Barely 18 months after breaking ground, H2, which cost nearly 20 million Swiss francs to build, is already operational. The staff and machines have already moved into the 8,000 square metres spread across four floors in the black building, which is the twin of the first building from 2009, henceforth known as H1. The two buildings are separated by the Nyon - La Cure railway and joined by a black bridge inspired by those seen on Formula 1 circuits. The little red trains that regularly pass beneath create quite a contrast!

    H2 will be used for the production of in-house movement components and cases but also incorporates the micromechanics workshop, CNC machines, decoration, galvanising and general mechanics workshops. It is also the new home of the brand's customer service department and part of the administration. Employee well-being has been taken into account with a new cafeteria on the ground floor. Two charging stations are available in the car park for those with an electric car. Hublot's commitment to sustainability also led to the choice of solar panels to produce renewable energy.

    The new facility will create 100 new jobs over the next five years, bringing the total workforce in Switzerland up to 400 people.

    H1, now free of its machine park, is mainly used for assembly and grand complications. The department of Innovations, Research and Development has more space available and now fills the ground floor entirely. This is also where you can find the laboratory-foundry where Magic Gold is produced. Stone-setting, which was previously done at a production unit in Gland, now also has a home at H1.

    This mammoth pop-up store plays host to Hublot's widest exhibition to date on the global stage as it also commemorates a decade of the spirit of Hublot. The spirit of Hublot, the Art of Fusion is ubiquitous in the pop-up through the unique showcase of exclusive limited editions. And this also includes the other objet d'arts and lifestyle gears at a specially curated accessory bar.

    The pop-up store is the launch-pad for a set of limited edition timepieces that is exclusive to Singapore as well as other novelties that have not been seen here.
    Hublot specially created the "Red Dot" Bang to commemorate their 10th year Anniversary and Singapore's Golden Jubilee.

    The "Red Dot" Bang is a 44mm Big Bang introduced in two cases - Hublonium and yellow gold, produced in a limited edition of 50 pieces, tying it back to 50 illustrious years of Singapore. A limited 10 pieces of "Red Dot" Bang is produced in a yellow gold case, as a tribute to it being the original noble material of all case materials in watchmaking history.

    The opening of the Hublot boutique in the prestigious Istinye Park shopping centre in the Istinye quarter of Istanbul took place in the presence of Jean-Claude Biver, Chairman of Hublot. This opening in Istanbul heralds the arrival of a new concept in interior design for Hublot boutiques worldwide, a concept which has been developed entirely within the company. With a shop floor covering 50 square metres, the boutique in Istanbul gives a fresh interpretation of the concept of "fusion" so dear to the brand, using a new combination of materials such as silver brushed Oakwood and wool floors, silk-lined panels covering the walls, interwoven with elegant elements made from ebony and chromed steel to accentuate the display cases to great effect. In the more private spaces, gilded velvet is combined with a particularly elegant fabric to give a contemporary reinterpretation of XVIth century mouldings. A brand new lighting concept has also been installed for the display cases, using focused beams of light to highlight the watches, movements and precious stones. Together, these naturally create a soft, warm ambience in shades of grey and black, complemented by contemporary furniture, in particular the full grain leather sofas and armchairs which have been handmade in Italy. A range of light fittings including table lamps, wall lights and chandeliers, custom-made in Murano in Italy adds an artistic touch. To accentuate the display cases housing the showpieces, Hublot exclusively commissioned silvered, broad, rounded panes of glass made in Italy. Finally, the brand's key models have been reinterpreted on Pop Art-style canvases. The innovative and technological touch dear to Hublot is represented in the display cases with the spatial motors, which enable you to view a watch from all angles, and the special LCG glass panes which finely embellish the watch display cases on the walls. At the entrance, to welcome customers and invite them to enter the world of Hublot, a large plasma screen displays images of the brand's many events and partnerships. 66 Hublot Boutiques have been opened since 2007. Hublot chose to open its first boutique in Paris. Further boutiques are set to open in the coming weeks in Houston Texas, Munich in Germany, Lucerne in Switzerland and Santa Fe in Mexico, along with 3 new boutiques in China (in Shenyang, Changchun and Chengdu).

The yachts head towards Le Bouveret at the end of the lake to tack around the "Hublot Barge" - the only brand on the course - at the halfway point, decked out for the occasion with a giant clock to show the teams their mid-race time. Hublot will also be present at the Societe Nautique de Geneve with display cases and a boutique, and its entire team led by Jean-Claude Biver, Chairman and Ricardo Guadalupe, CEO of the company.
