  • Hamilton - New movements

Hamilton has been an innovator in movements throughout its long history. Founded in 1892, Hamilton was a leading developer of mechanical movements during the Golden Age of American watchmaking. In addition to perfecting precision railroad watch movements, Hamilton introduced the first electric movement (in the iconic Ventura).
Continuing this tradition, Hamilton introduced three brand new movements this year - two mechanical movements and a unique quartz movement.

    H-10-S Automatic
The power reserve of a watch is how many hours it can operate, based on the state of wind of the mainspring (a tensed metal coil that stores and transmits energy to the movement). In the past, 38 - 48 hours was the range most power reserves fell into, and though this is enough for most people, recently focus has been placed on increasing power reserve in special timepieces.
The magic number is really at least 62 hours - so that you can take your work watch off at 5pm on Friday, then put it back on again at 7am on Monday morning, and it will still be running.

Hamilton has addressed this need for longer power reserve with its new H-10-S movement, which has 80 hours of power reserve, this year showcased in the RailRoad Skeleton timepiece. The choice of a skeleton watch as the first timepiece to use the H-10-S is key, as it allows the owner to admire the nicely finished movement, including Côtes de Geneve and snail and pearled finishes. According to Hamilton, the suppression of the escapement regulator is the key to optimal reliability and precision, while storing near double the power of standard movements.
You can expect this movement to be featured in other models in the future, as the convenience of 80 hours of power reserve is an incredible benefit.

    H-32 Automatic
The H-32 is Hamilton's second automatic movement introduced this year, and it is on display via the open case back of the Khaki Navy Pioneer Small Second. Inspired by Hamilton's marine chronometers manufactured in the 1940s, the Khaki Navy Pioneer Small Second is highly legible and elegantly simple. Finely finished, the H-32 movement is decorated with snailed patterns and pearled finishes. Equipped with a skeletonized rotor, the H-32 is the same size as the H-10-S and offers 38 hours of power reserve.

    H-41 Quartz
On the quartz side, Hamilton has developed a new world time movement, perfect for the modern traveler. This new exclusive movement is extremely sophisticated, but easy to use, allowing the wearer to easily switch between worldtimer functionality and a pilot chronograph, all via a press of the pusher located at 10 o'clock.
For pilots, minutes are more important than hours, so the large 12 minute counter of this timepiece is placed in the most visible position, at six o'clock.

Featured in the Hamilton Chrono Worldtimer, this new movement ensures functionality for private and professional pilots by integrating a dual time display, 24 world city indications, Daylight Savings Time along with the ability to display Coordinated Universal Time (UTC, the standard for pilots). This timepiece was developed in partnership with aerobatic pilot Nicolas Ivanoff to meet the needs of real pilots.

Hamilton continues its well-deserved reputation of innovation with exclusive movements in versatile new timepieces.

  • Hamilton - RailRoad Lady Auto - 32 mm

In 2015, a rich palette of blues, from navy to petrol, adds its signature to the latest Hamilton ladies' watches. The color of elegance, sophistication and serenity makes b style statements in the name of the modern female. Harmoniously partnering materials such as mother of pearl and diamonds, or flirting with sunray patterns or teardrop indexes, blue steals the show.

We are introducing today the first watch: the RailRoad Lady Auto - 32 mm. Eleven diamonds, set in square chatons, and a precise automatic movement keep this refined ladies' timepiece on track for looks and performance. Fine blue markings towards the center of a mother of pearl dial form a perfect circle and match the flamed blue second hand.
A petrol blue leather strap intensifies the distinctive color code, or a classical metal bracelet presents a different look. The easy click fixture facilitates alternating between the two, to suit a change of mood or outfit. Femininity always has the final word via elongated indexes and slender nickeled hour and minute hands.

  • IWC - Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton present their own watches

Apart from their professional interest in Fomula One, Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg also share a passion for mechanical watches. As brand ambassadors of IWC Schaffhausen, they had a hand in the design of their own watches, and, prior to the first practice sessions on the track, appeared for their presentation at an IWC event in Singapore.
The results are impressive: the Ingenieur Chronograph Edition "Lewis Hamilton" (Ref. IW379602) has a distinctly technical appeal, while the Ingenieur Chronograph Edition "Nico Rosberg" (Ref. IW379603) is both lighter and sportier in appearance.

The main aims of the collaboration between IWC and the two drivers were to equip both teammates with a personalized and characteristic watch and to adapt the concept of "performance engineering" to the successful Silver Arrow drivers.

The fact that the watch chosen was a chronograph from the Ingenieur family was no coincidence. First, the chronograph is the epitome of sports timing; and, second, the Ingenieur collection pays tribute to the global partnership between IWC and Mercedes AMG Petronas with materials typically used in motorsport, such as titanium, carbon fibre and ceramic. For both Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton, the only conceivable material for the case was titanium.
The rugged timepieces have been equipped with one of the most efficient movements manufactured entirely by IWC, the 89361 calibre, equipped with IWC double-pawl winding system.

The upper totalizer displays clocked hours and minutes as clearly as the time of day. Stopped times up to one minute are measured by the central seconds hand. Another very practical feature for anyone who frequents the world's racing circuits is the flyback function for measuring pit-stop times.
Both of the special editions, which are each limited to 250 watches, have a special feature on the reverse side: inset into the titanium case back is a medallion of carbon fibre, which may well show signs of wear and tear.
A certificate supplied with each watch confirms that the material originally comes from one of the Silver Arrow cars used by Mercedes AMG Petronas.
The back of the watch is sealed with a water-resistant sapphire glass that bears the personal logo of Nico Rosberg or Lewis Hamilton on the inner surface.

    Lewis Hamilton's timepiece
"I wanted to have a watch that featured a lot of technology," says Lewis Hamilton. The racing driver prefers metal bracelets and chose rugged, skin-friendly titanium for the Ingenieur Chronograph Edition "Lewis Hamilton". In doing so, the technophile Mercedes driver also created the only watch in the entire IWC collection with a titanium bracelet.

    Nico Rosberg's timepiece
"For me, IWC watches epitomize not only complex technology and unmatched performance but also passion and emotions," is how Nico Rosberg sums up his impressions. "These were also the elements that I wanted my watch to embody. I was certain that the combination of my favourite material, titanium, with the black strap and the bright dial would create a striking contrast." The yellow colour of the seconds hand and of the hands in the totalizer at "12 o'clock" recalls the neon yellow helmet that was Nico Rosberg's trademark for 7 years. The watch features a rubber strap, which has an added touch of luxury with its embossed calfskin inlay and grey quilted stitching.

Renewal of partnership with Mercedes AMG Petronas
IWC Schaffhausen also announces the renewal of its current partnership with the Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula One™ Team for a further 3 years.

  • Hamilton - Pan Europ

Today's Pan Europ watches continue the series' tradition of showcasing technological advancements - the original Hamilton Pan Europ, introduced in 1971, contained one of the world's first automatic chronograph movements: they are powered by a brand new, high-performance automatic movement. The H-30, with its 80 hours of typical power reserve, is rooted in sporty design that is both chic and dynamic.

Modern materials and color schemes translate the Pan Europ heritage into an eye-catching contemporary timepiece. The circular dial flows into angular lugs to frame a turning bezel with an aluminum ring. Color is king and supports timekeeping and styling. White reflector on the dial and hands with Superluminova literally make the hours and minutes leap out. Fiery red takes control of the markings from 12 to 3 o'clock and of the fine second hand. It also makes an appearance in stripe form on the textile straps and to cover the surface of the round cut-outs in the black leather ones. The days and dates are displayed at 3 o'clock mark.

  • Hamilton - Bagley

The shaping of the Hamilton Bagley gains its uniqueness through varying heights between the horizontal and vertical case edges and an intriguing combination of straight and curved lines. The sides of the case extend to become elegant lugs. A love of detail is evident in the watch's domed, multi-level dial with a stamped central panel in a quilted effect. This rises like a protective archway above the small, circular second counter at 6 o'clock. Sword-shaped pink gold plated hands and matching applied indexes visually seduce with their feminine appeal.

Accommodating every successful woman's desire to be different, the Hamilton Bagley comes in two sizes and with a choice of attachment variations. Adding a note of nobility is a genuine ostrich leather strap in beige with a pin buckle. Alternatively, a three-row stainless steel bracelet with an easy click fasten is confidently contemporary. The special fastening mechanism makes it simple to alternate between the two straps should the wearer wish to have both to meet the specific demands of all occasions and moods.

  • TAG Heuer - Lewis Hamilton Wins German Grand Prix

Lewis Hamilton won a tense three way battle for victory in the German Grand Prix, beating Fernando Alonso and the pole sitter Mark Webber.

Hamilton jumped Mark Webber's Red Bull at the start for the lead, lost and regained it before beating Ferrari's Fernando Alonso and Webber to the line.

An error-strewn drive saw Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel finish fourth. Jenson Button was forced to retire for the second race in a row after his car suffered hydraulic difficulties.

A second victory of the season - and his 16th career victory - leaves Hamilton 82 points behind Vettel with nine races left to go.

  • TAG Heuer - Sharapova, DiCaprio, Wood and Hamilton

    La Revue FH - 30 April 2009 - No 8
In a time of economic challenge, TAG Heuer is extending its bold vision of the avant-garde with a brand new, emotionally charged ad campaign that challenges the very rules of endorsement marketing.
The famous challenge of TAG Heuer, «What are you made of?», is the common thread linking the past campaign to this daring new one. Now, however, the confrontational claim expresses the unique drive and passion of these super-achieving Knights of Time.
The visually stunning campaign coincides with the signing of new TAG Heuer ambassador Leonardo DiCaprio, who is partnering with the brand to support two of the world's most important environmental charities: the Natural Resources Defense Council and Green Cross International. The Hollywood superstar and committed environmental activist will appear in the new campaign endorsements of TAG Heuer's new ultra-masculine Aquaracer 500. Other visuals will feature world number one golfer Tiger Woods for Link, 2008 F1 World Champion Lewis Hamilton for TAG Heuer's bestselling Carrera line and tennis superstar Maria Sharapova for women's expression of Aquaracer and Link.
The sophisticated visuals were shot by master photographer Tom Munro, whose glamorous photos regularly appear on the covers of Italian Vogue and Harper's Bazaar. Produced by CLM BBDO, the campaign will be launched worldwide in May.
«TAG Heuer's 2009 ad campaign is an inspirational tale of personal achievement, » said Jean-Christophe Babin, TAG Heuer President and CEO. «It tells the story of extraordinary individuals who transcend obstacles to realize dreams and attain the unreachable - and then keep going, setting their sights even higher, on horizons not yet dreamed of. These incredible men and woman are champions who never stop thinking of themselves as challengers. This is why, in their stunning portraits by Tom Munro, they don't wear the watches on their wrists but brandish them in their fists - as public declaration of their determination. The timepieces aren't accessories, they are talismans - lucky charms accompanying heroes on a perennial quest to be better, ber, faster.»
