ADMIRAL'S CUP

In 1960, the first interpretation of the Admiral's Cup model paved the way for CORUM's success. This model remains thanks to its history, which is inextricably bound up with major sailing competitions and prestigious sailors, as well as for its inimitable esthetic based on a twelve-sided case, a dial set off by twelve nautical pennants, and the Admiral's Cup trophy engraved on the caseback. These are its distinctive and unmistakable identifying characteristics.

The "Admiral's Cup" is currently worn and represented by Ben Ainslie, one of the greatest living sailors and four-time Olympic medal winner who has already earned an impressive number of records and distinctions, and by Loïck Peyron, regarded as one of the best sailors both on multihull and monohull boats with a breathtaking list of accomplishments to his credit, including 43 transatlantic crossings and four round-the-world races. In 2010 the Admiral's Cup collection commemorated its half century of creation. To celebrate this anniversary CORUM paid tribute to ocean enthusiasts and introduced the first divers watch, water-resistant to 1000 meters, to the collection.

In 2011 and for the first time, the collection is structured into three distinct segments: Seafender, characterized by sturdy designs encompassing ultimate sports functions - Challenger, with a more sporting chic design offering a range of chronograph complications - Legend, offering more elegant and classical models featuring cases with softer lines and more classic complications. Each segment respects the identity codes of the Admiral's Cup while speaking to another universe.

CORUM BRIDGES

The brand's flagship complication model, the Golden Bridge was introduced in 1980 and remains a benchmark with its unique baguette movement. Moreover, it is also regarded as an avant-garde watch thanks to its movement placed in the centre of a transparent sapphire crystal case. In 2009, Corum raised the curtain on its new and exclusive caliber designed, developed and assembled in-house. The CO 007 movement is clearly inspired by the legendary Golden Bridge caliber while giving a whole new twist to the original concept; although the shape is immediately recognizable, the dimensions, the components and the technical characteristics are all completely different.

In 2010, CORUM celebrated the 30th anniversary of its iconic baguette movement of the Golden Bridge and enhanced the movement with an outstanding complication; the world's smallest tourbillon with silicon escapement. The Corum Bridges pillar experiences a substantial evolution in 2011 with the presentation of an exclusive new creation: the Golden Bridge Automatic with the first linear-winding automatic movement.

Corum Grand Precis, an anthem to classicism
In 1957, two years after its founding, Corum presented its Grand Precis, the archetypal classic watch. Loyal to its proud watchmaking heritage, the brand is now reviving this emblematic model radiating a vintage aura through two limited editions equipped with movements built using original components.
The classic watch, which shows the time and the time only, in keeping with the noblest mechanical traditions, represents a favorite stylistic choice in the watchmaking world. Easy to read, a pure round shape and a slim, refined movement are the key common denominators of these models that continue to delight devotees of Fine Watchmaking - those who regard the timeless nature of these timepieces as a fragment of immortality.

Concerned with preserving its historical heritage, in 2010 Corum had already revived two of its emblematic models in 2010: the Golden Tube and the Chinese Hat. In the same vein, it now presents a re-edition of the Grand Precis, a watch first introduced in 1957 barely two years after the company was founded. The ultimate symbol of horological classicism, this timepiece with applied hour-markers, dauphine hands and small seconds at 6 o'clock was issued at the time in an 18K gold 100-piece limited edition. Corum thus wished to give a new lease on life to this timepiece with its delightfully vintage aura through two new limited series comprising 100 in 18K red gold and 50 in 18K white gold.
These two new editions are exact reproductions of the initial model, apart from the slight upsizing of the original case from 36 mm to 38.5 mm. The champagne-colored dial with its extremely classic and vintage spirit displays rigorous respect for the original model, with small seconds at 6 o'clock, applied hour-markers, superluminova-enhanced dauphine hands and fine vertical and horizontal lines serving as elegant points of reference. As for the hand-wound CO162 movement with a balance oscillating at 18,000 vibrations per hour and a 36-hour power reserve, it was built from original components - of which sufficient numbers to create these two limited editions were found among the company's store of historical parts. This remarkable movement is distinguished by its extremely large balance wheel guaranteeing the exceptional precision that gave its name to this watch in 1957. Inspired by the same spirit, the decorations of this caliber with its satin-finished bridges are entirely executed by hand in keeping with the techniques of the era. Its structure may be admired through the sapphire crystal case-back. Both versions are teamed with a crocodile leather strap and 18K gold buckle.
With its Grand Precis, Corum provides a perfect demonstration of the proud horological tradition on which the House has built its renown through the decades. Connoisseurs and devotees of understated time measurement, featuring design codes directly inherited from the past, are bound to appreciate this "historical" and nonetheless resolutely contemporary timepiece.
