If you like watches and have a wrist on the small side, this Rado TRUE watch is a great watch. It has a beautiful looking band and a readable face. It is attractive to look at and seems relatively sturdy. I had it in gold and recently bought it in silver. It is a very nice watch for the price.

Standout innovative creativity has always been the inspirational guiding force behind the work accomplished by the development teams, as was the case when introducing the art of plumasserie on the surprising eponymous models of the Premier collection featuring dials adorned with bird feathers.

Driven by the same avant-garde spirit, Harry Winston has developed an entirely original technique for harvesting the natural pigments from butterfly wings and applying them to a metal dial plate. Three years of research have culminated in this exceptional result, creating exceptional tableaux the size of a watch dial while reflecting the infinite beauty of nature. Just as with feathers, the poetic paradox of this complex technique lies in transposing the ephemeral into eternity while preserving its intrinsic qualities. The extreme fragility of butterfly wings flutters away once immortalized on the dial after the ultra-meticulous harvesting of tiny scales filled with extraordinary pigments from the "Agrias Claudina Lugens" variety. The spectacular iridescence and the intensity of the colors are maintained, while the light playing across the watch as it changes direction on the wrist even creates a sense of movement. While the pigment colors thus appear to be modified, they are in fact stabilized and do not deteriorate. Each model is thus as unique as butterfly wings themselves, even though each of the four models is distinguished by a dedicated motif from a butterfly species ("Adelpha Lara" and "Chrysiridia Madagascariensis" being the other two). Reflecting the inimitable refinement of Harry Winston refinement, the satin straps match the dial colors.

Beneath the kaleidoscopic dial, the theme of motion continues with a self-winding Manufacture movement whose precision is enhanced by a silicon balance-spring such as very few brands are capable of producing. The decoration visible through the sapphire crystal caseback is more traditional than on the front of the Premier Precious Butterfly and includes circular Côtes de Geneve, circular graining and rhodium plating. Rarity now has a face… and wings.

Each year has its own theme. After exploring that of "The Gift of Time" in 2012, the Paris-based house is dedicated 2013 to sport. "Sport has always played an important role at Hermes", explains Luc Perramond, CEO of La Montre Hermes. "Passion, fair play, team work and elegance in motion are all sports-related values that also define us."
Three sports models
The Dressage line, first launched in 2003, has been beating since last year to the tempo of exclusive Manufacture movements testifying to the brand's passion for fine mechanisms. In collaboration with Vaucher Manufacture Fleurier, Hermes has this time interpreted it through a chronograph version with an opaline silvered or black dial.

Still in the equestrian world, the Arceau collection welcomes the Chrono Bridon model, which highlights an extremely original strap. Inspired by riding bridles, the small leather bit known as a bradoon reinforces the strap attachment to the case with distinctive saddle stitching.
 

In the nautical world, the sports theme is expressed in three new Clipper Sport models featuring vivid colours. The iconic bezel inspired by the portholes of the large 19th century sailboats is extended by a strap in orange, blue or Hermes red rubber.

New interpretations of the Arceau Le Temps Suspendu model
A world away from that of sport, Hermes continues to provide glimpses of a poetic universe that it has been exploring in particular depth recently. "Time to dream is a territory that we began charting two years ago with 'Le Temps Suspendu'. In this concept, technical expertise is dedicated to serving Hermes poetry and we offer people a chance to experience a very special relationship with time," points out Luc Perramond. The Arceau Le Temps Suspendu watch enables the user to bring the hours and minutes hands to a halt at around 12 o'clock, at an imaginary time, while the seconds hand in the graduated subdial continues turning, but backwards. "It is basically a playful nod," adds Luc Perramond. "This seconds hand is designed to serve as an indicator that although time has been suspended, it is in fact still running. It is also a means for us to show that one can indeed play with time and not take oneself too seriously." Available in a 38 mm diameter that is ideal for ladies' wrists, the Arceau Le Temps Suspendu 43mm equipped with a large retrograde date display now comes in two new versions: platinum and platinum set with baguette-cut diamonds.

Finally, Luc Perramond emphasises the presence of two exceptional creations at this year's edition of Baselworld, and notably the Arceau Pocket Volutes which highlights the perfect sobriety of Grand Feu enamelling on the dial, the refinement of gold marquetry, and the meticulous precision of the hand engraving adorning the cover. A unique creation testifying to Hermes' determination to perpetuate traditional crafts.

When a powerhouse like Chanel decided to create a watch department, it was clear that it would come up with something really special. And it did: the J12 rapidly became one of the iconic timepieces of the new millennium, going further in the use of ceramics than pioneers Rado (which specialized more in surface finishing) and establishing the trend of white and black ceramic timepieces that many other brands have followed.
If white and black are the emblematic colors of Chanel, the newest star in the brand's watch line unveiled at Baselworld comes in grey - in many shades of grey, actually. With the J12 Chromatic, the French marque not only gave the J12 collection new impetus, but also invented a new tone. For some time, Chanel's research & development department had been looking for a way to keep the focus on its flagship model through the use of new color or new complication; the final option was to work on an unprecedented alloy for watchmaking. After two years, the brand came up with the so-called chromatic: titanium ceramics, based on the joining of titanium and ceramics with a concluding polishing with diamond powder that makes the surface shine in a unique way.

Tinged by surrounding colors
The material is no longer injected as with mineral ceramics during the various production stages; it's pressed. The final tone, just like mercury, is moldable by the surrounding colors: it absorbs light and becomes tinged while keeping the greyish aura.
Titanium ceramics is harder and lighter than mineral ceramics, but also much more difficult to polish, meaning that the new alloy required finding new polishing techniques and procedures - in the end, only diamond can scratch the surface of the new J12 Chromatic line, which was introduced at Baselworld in seven versions comprising three different case diameters and three different executions: the clean J12 Chromatic Classic (41, 38 and 33 mm), the sumptuous J12 Chromatic Baguette-Cut Diamonds (38 and 33 mm), and the sparkling J12 Chromatic Diamonds (also 38 and 33 mm).

Other new products were unveiled such as the J12 Exclusive Editions, including a chronograph set with baguette-cut diamonds worth more than 500,000 euros; the 42 mm J12 powered by an Audemars Piguet caliber, and the feminine Premiere Triple Tour. However, the Chromatic was clearly the star of the show and will certainly carve out yet another new path for others to follow.
