The latest newcomer to the Happy Sport collection, "La vie en rose" radiates extreme glamour and femininity, while remaining true to the very essence of Happy Sport watches: a sports chic piece accentuated by the timeless presence of the famous mobile diamonds.

A romantic piece, this delightfully summery version dares to think pink right through to the smallest details: from the bezel set with pink sapphires ,to the rose mother-of-pearl dial and with a matching satin strap! Adding to the charm and refinement of this precious timepiece, a delicately contoured rose appears against the dial background, while mobile diamonds and pink sapphires dance like dewdrops across its petals. One is almost tempted to lean in and inhale the fragrance of this flower, which unlike the rose sung by the French poet Ronsard, will never lose its radiant beauty - a fact that "sweethearts" around the world will appreciate. For its 150th anniversary, the company has chosen to highlight this expertise by presenting the L.U.C 1937 model - a steel watch firmly rooted in the tradition of timelessly classic timepieces and equipped with the new L.U.C 1.010 self-winding movement chronometer-certified by the COSC. This anniversary model is issued in a limited edition.
The 150 years of Chopard's history to date have been punctuated by many decisive moments. 1937 was one of these pivotal years, since that was when the founder's grandson Paul-Andre Chopard chose to leave the Jura region where Louis-Ulysse Chopard set up his first workshop, in order to establish the brand in Geneva. It was in the latter canton that Chopard subsequently built its current success. In tribute to this landmark event in its history, the Manufacture presents the L.U.C 1937 model, with its pure, understated lines embodying a significant facet of the company's watchmaking history.
The 42 mm-diameter steel case of the L.U.C 1937 model features an innovative profile with a screw-lock crown off-set at 4 o'clock ensuring optimal comfort on the wrist and guaranteeing water resistance to 100 metres. It is adorned with a vertical satin-brushed finish on the sides, along with polished lugs and a sapphire crystal case-back. The slate grey dial is distinguished by a sunburst satin-brushed motif centred around the Chopard logo at 12 o'clock, and by applied Roman numerals. Protected by a glareproof sapphire crystal, it displays the hours, minutes, central seconds along with a date window at 6 o'clock, while also offering a stop-seconds function enabling easy and accurate time-setting.
The L.U.C 1937 model beats to the rhythm of the new L.U.C Calibre 1.010, a mechanical self-winding movement. Its construction designed to achieve faultless reliability is characterised by a crown at 4 o'clock, a 60-hour power reserve, 31 jewels and a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour; while Côtes de Geneve finishing and a L.U.C engraving set the perfect finishing touch.
L.U.C 1.010 represents a significant landmark in the history of L.U.C movements. Accurate, reliable, efficient and designed to facilitate assembly, it was specifically developed to lend itself smoothly to industrial-scale production.
The subtly elegant new L.U.C 1937 watch is fitted with a black leather strap secured by a steel pin buckle. This anniversary model is issued in a limited series of 1,937 watches.
