Baume & Mercier - Keep time with social networks
Throughout the event, there will be an application on Facebook - a Baume & Mercier virtual SIHH stand - for exploring the collections on display at the show. With just one click, fans can even attend a sneak-preview presentation of new products at two on-site, video-broadcast press conferences.
At the virtual stand, the year's 1,000 most-active fans will be honored in the Baume & Mercier "hall of fans," including a rollover profile picture display.
Bloggers can keep pace with all the action through a site devoted to feed coverage of topical conversations on Twitter about the show, the brand's latest news, and the watchmaking world, all found on the web page www.bm.sihh12.com. It's a tool provided in partnership with Worldtempus, ideal for journalists covering the event, for those attending the show, and for fans who want to follow SIHH news and events in real time.
Last but not least, QR codes placed on the display cases will give onsite visitors access to a web page containing detailed information about the new Linea, Hampton, and Capeland collections. Each can leave his or her contact information, so as to be kept up-to-date on the model release dates by city and price.
Facebook fans can also access these QR codes through the virtual stand on the Baume & Mercier fan page.
Staying connected to tradition, and a tradition of staying connected: That's the spirit of this celebrated company that has always shaken up watchmaking codes. Whether online or in person, the experts at Baume & Mercier look forward to seeing you in Geneva at the SIHH, January 16-20, 2012, to experience this event in a truly exceptional way. Life is about moments...
A thoroughly connected company
Baume & Mercier broke new ground at the 2010 Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie, making a grand entrance on the social networks. The brand is keen to stay in touch with its public, focusing on maintaining dialogue with internet users, reading their stories, and using their favorite media to satisfy their needs and desires.
Barely two years later, the number of Baume & Mercier Facebook fans has topped 200,000 and the enthusiasm continues unabated. The buzz is completely in line with the watchmaker's commitment to those fans as it nourishes a genuine bond with its ambassadors around the world. They relate their personal stories and opinions, make suggestions, but, above all, share their anecdotes and experiences of receiving their watches, so often commemorating a special event in their lives, a celebration of being.
The recent craze on web triggered by the launch video for the new Hampton collection leaves no doubt: When it comes to social networks, Baume & Mercier has demonstrated the same exacting standards and creativity that the watchmaker applies to every timepiece.

Baume & Mercier - The Hamptons
BAUME & MERCIER NEW BRAND TERRITORY 2012
"WHY THE HAMPTONS"
The Hamptons: A Place in the Heart
The seaside has always been a place where friends and family have gone to reconnect, and to restore and rejuvenate mind and body. This is the world embodied by Baume & Mercier's "spirit of seaside living", and the atmosphere captured by the timepieces of Baume & Mercier. Of all the world's seaside destinations, there's perhaps none more iconic than the Hamptons -just a stone's throw away from the hustle and bustle of New York City, on the eastern shores of Long Island, the Hamptons have long been a getaway not just for New Yorkers but a destination spot for the whole world.
People from all walks of life meet in the Hamptons -it's this atmosphere of conviviality and authenticity that has made the Hamptons collection of watches one of the most iconic for Baume & Mercier in recent memory. The leisurely pace of life in the Hamptons reached a peak in the 1920s, when Jazz Age affluence nurtured a relaxed elegance still embodied by the Hamptons today. The importance of leisure time spent enjoying the company of family and close friends is, in today's world, more important than ever, and creates memories that last a lifetime. Baume & Mercier identifies with the Hamptons with timepieces that can both commemorate life's most important moments, and be everyday companions themselves.
The unique atmosphere of the Hamptons has made it not just a home away from home for the financial and business elite, but a world renowned artist's colony as well. For decades, well known luminaries of the arts world, including Jackson Pollock, Mark Rothko, Andy Warhol and great American writers from James Fenimore Cooper to Herman Melville to F. Scott Fitzgerald have all drawn inspiration from the Hamptons as well. The spirit not just of relaxed conviviality, but also of creativity, is captured by Baume & Mercier in its timepieces.
It's the perennial natural beauty of this timeless meeting place of sea and sky, with its mansions bathed in limpid sunlight, its serenely beautiful beaches on the Atlantic shore, and the never ending music of the ocean, that forms the inspiration for Baume & Mercier. Expressing the beauty of the harmonious rhythms of nature, and the commemoration of life's most memorable moments, the watches of Baume & Mercier are a bridge both to the outer world of the Hamptons and to an inner world of sophisticated leisure and elegance.
