Revealed at the 2015 Watches&Wonders exhibition, the new collection Heures Creatives encompasses three feminine watches. The timepieces feature a brilliant exchange between three distinctive and contrasting universes. Both in jewellery and in watchmaking, success is inevitably determined by compliance with an intangible rule: it results from long hours of work. Using skilled gestures inherited from bygone eras, the jeweller sets off to conquer material and focuses on even the smallest details until perfection is achieved. This is all about meticulous and authentic work on materials, in which different gemsetting techniques were required to reveal the splendid lines of the Heures Creatives collection.

Last week we introduced you to the Heure Discrete timepiece. Today, we are focusing on the second watch model: The Heure Romantique.

At the dawn of the 20th century, Europe experienced a period of intense industrialisation. It was as a reaction to this energetic whirlwind that Art Nouveau was born. This movement sent a fresh breeze blowing through artistic circles which began advocating a return to Nature, with undulating shapes, organic swirls and effusive arabesques. The elegant and inventive women of this era took refuge in pastel-hued, vaporous, voluptuous romanticism. The Heure Romantique model is inspired by this delicate trend. Crafted in 18- carat white gold and adorned with 104 round-cut diamonds (approximately 2.5 cts), its bezel undulates around a mother-of-pearl dial. Four gemset lugs deliciously accentuate the smooth contours of a slightly curved case punctuated by a winding crown enhanced with a diamond. Inspired by a model highly emblematic of the Belle Epoque and dating from 1916, this reinterpretation is devoid of all superfluity and retains only its quintessential elegant roundness. This exceptional timepiece is worn on a black satin strap, secured by a white gold gemset folding clasp.

The Manufacture's artists have pushed virtuosity to its extremes by creating a second version that is fully paved with round-cut diamonds including the dial, case and bracelet. The latter is articulated around 30 crescent moon-shaped links set with 264 precious stones (approximately 6.3 cts), extending the smooth curves of the case. Bearing vibrant testimony to the mastery of the artistic crafts cultivated at Vacheron Constantin, the fully paved version is graced with 621 diamonds totalling approximately 9.7 cts. The contours of the Heure Romantique are further accentuated in the version set with baguette-cut diamonds. The sparkle of faceted precious stones (totalling approximately 17 cts) forms a river of crystalline light poised to nestle in the hollow of a graceful wrist.

On March 6th, Vacheron Constantin, the world's oldest continuous watch manufacturer for more than 255 years, hosted the inaugural cocktail for "ThinkSwiss: Geneve Meets New York." The week-long festival, in honor of the 300th birthday of Geneva-born Jean-Jacques Rousseau, consists of more than 10 events that explore the remarkable impact of the Geneva spirit, embodied in the Enlightened works of Rousseau.

Hugues de Pins, president of Vacheron Constantin North America, and Ambassador François Barras of the Consul General of Switzerland in New York, co-hosted the event at the private residence of Ambassador Barras. Among the guests were Mr. Pascal Couchepin, former President of the Swiss Confederation, Mr. Beat Reinhardt, president of the Swiss Society of New York, key speakers from the ThinkSwiss week, friends and clients.
In his welcome speech, Hugues de Pins elaborated on the partnership. "Vacheron Constantin is proud to support this festival celebrating these ideas born in Geneva during the age of the Enlightenment as our company's founding, which continue to have such relevance both in New York and around the world," said Mr. de Pins.

In perfect harmony with the beautiful penthouse on Manhattan's Upper East Side, a selection of Vacheron Constantin timepieces were on display within the home. Guests were drawn to the magnificent pieces from the 2009 Metiers d'Art "Les Masques" collection, on display in tribute to author Michel Butor, whose poems appear on the watch dials and who is being honored at the Gallatin School during the week for his lifetime achievements. The newest Metiers d'Art collection, "Les Univers Infinis", whose dials are inspired by the Dutch artist M.C. Escher, also attracted attention. Other new models, including the Patrimony Traditionelle 14-day Tourbillon and the 100th Year Anniversary Malte in platinum drew great admiration from guests.

Founded in Paris in 1837, the House of Hermes built its reputation for excellence on its skill in making horse saddles. In the early 20th century, it further developed this know-how acquired in the field of leather craftsmanship, notably by producing belts, clothes and bags. The Hermes watchmaking tradition dates back to the 1920s, when its saddle-making talent was first exercised on watch straps.
In 1928, the first Hermes watches were presented in the company store at 24, Faubourg Saint-Honore. At the time, Hermes placed its signature on "timepieces" created in cooperation with the greatest names in the Swiss watch industry - such as Jaeger-LeCoultre, Universal, Vacheron Constantin and Audemars Piguet - before founding in 1978 the Ateliers de La Montre Hermes in Biel, Switzerland.

On December 9th 2010, La Montre Hermes is opening an exclusive 68 square-metre store dedicated to its watch collections in the Shoppes at Singapore's Marina Bay Sands, thereby pursuing a retailing approach that began in March 2009 with the shop-in-shop in the Wangfujing Department Store, Beijing, China.

Viewed from the outside, the store front features huge windows and very bright openings revealing a beautiful interior with its cherry wood panels, showcases and elegant furniture sheathed in beige leather.

At the store entrance, visitors are immersed in the brand universe and discover elegant, simple silver tower showcases displaying precious and unique watches. A little further on, the display windows exhibit the brand's core collection. The watches themselves are presented in small showcases and display units characterised by their pure, sleek lines.
A broad variety of colours and materials for leather straps are available to help the customer choose the best combination before purchasing his watch. In the back, a more intimate area provides a cosy private setting in which to welcome visitors and to present the collections including mechanical watches as well as complication models.

The store hosts the entire range of collections, starting with Arceau, a beautifully understated watch on which the case attachments emulate the shape and curvature of a stirrup. Classical, timeless and unostentatious, this watch embodies the Hermes style. Cape Cod is inspired by the link of the famous "anchor chain" bracelet, an iconic jewel from the house of Hermes. The appeal of Cape Cod Tonneau owes much to its tonneau shape and ideally proportioned new curves.

Clipper is easily recognizable by its bezel shaped liked the porthole of the tall 19th century sailing ships. This model, which has adopted a titanium case in 2010, is internationally acclaimed for its exceptional balance and dimensions. The famous brand initial takes pride of place in the H-our creation, which brings to the wrist the emblematic "H" previously used on bags, belts or sandal straps.
