The name "Aronde", which is an Old French word for a swallow's wings, refers to the extremely original double-rounded curve unfurling almost like wings along the case flanks, and accentuated by a bly cambered sapphire crystal. The subtle and elegant opaline silvered dial is adorned with a finely hand-guilloche motif epitomising the artistic crafts faithfully perpetuated by Vacheron Constantin; while the applied gold numerals, hour-markers and Maltese Cross symbol emphasise the highly structured nature of this model.
This distinctive model imbued with a vintage spirit beats to the rhythm of Calibre 1400 AS, a mechanical hand-wound movement developed and manufactured in-house by Vacheron Constantin. Its balance oscillates at a frequency of 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour), and the watch boasts a substantial 40-hour power reserve. This meticulously finished movement bearing the prestigious Hallmark of Geneva drives displays of the hours, the minute, as well as small seconds in a rectangular counter at 6 o'clock.
