Jaeger-LeCoultre - High jewellery timepieces in India
It was a celebration of Luxury! An intoxicating evening, heady with a cocktail of fine high end jewellery mixed liberally with panache and style that has been by far the most star-studded event of the year in New Delhi! A hedonistic array of exclusive high jewellery and timepieces from the Manufacture Jaeger-LeCoultre, launched for the first time in India, by distinguished guests of honour, style icon and superstar Hrithik Roshan and his charming wife Sussanne Roshan.
The collection was unveiled through an elegant fashion preview where models sashayed the ramp sporting exclusive high-end jewellery and timepieces. And the ambience was electrifying when Sussanne and Hrithik Roshan took center stage towards the end of the fashion sequel, donning some of the marvelous creations by Jaeger-LeCoultre.
The movers and shakers of the capital, the social and corporate circuit and the glitterati brigade attended the occasion to witness the spectacular launch. Key names included designers Ravi Bajaj, JJ Vallaya, Suneet Verma, Aparna Chandra, Malini Ramani, Manav Gangwani, Leena Singh, Rohit Gandhi, Rahul Khanna. Also present were Sanjeev Bijli from PVR, Ambika Pillai, actress Nisha Singh, Gaurav Raina & Tapan Raj from Medieval Pundit, models Michelle, Ayesha Prem & Sapna Kumar, Bina Ramani, Nandita Abhishek, Pradeep Burman, Subodh Gupta & his better half Bharti Kher, Abhishek Khaitan (managing Director of Radico Khaitan), David Parry, Vicky Sahni, David Chang, Mohit Jayal & V Sunil (A Advertising), Thenny Mejia (Senior Vice President of Operations, Globerian India Pvt Ltd.), Sushma Puri (CEO Elite) & Amita Seth to name a few.
Some of the exclusive pieces showcased that took everyone's breath away were:
• Le Lierre - a jewellery set composed of a cuff-watch, a necklace, a pair of earrings and a ring with a record number of 12000 precious stones, 160 carats and two exceptional yellow diamonds, all play on shades of intense gold and green, reflecting the verdant shades of nature in all its timeless wildness
• Reverso Squadra Lady - The boldly determined appearance of the Reverso Squadra Lady reflects a multi-faceted feminine universe: two faces, a fast and clever strap-change system, a stunning array of materials, a classic design and the sparkle of diamonds. Equipped with the latest generation of Jaeger-LeCoultre movements, these models combine the signature Reverso Squadra features with a degree of refinement, set with 36 diamonds reserved exclusively for feminine wrists
• Master Twinkling Diamonds - Spectacular expressions of dazzling artistic inspiration, distinguished by absolute seduction and supreme elegance this sparkling creation merges two incredibly refined and formidably complex arts - exceptional watch making and exceptional jewellery making
• Reverso Neva - Inspired by the word "neve" (meaning snow in Italian) and the river on which Saint-Petersburg is built, the name "Neva" evokes the fairytale beauty of a river scintillating amid a snowy landscape. Such is the sublimely beautiful picture portrayed by the Reverso Neva. The technique of the infinitely small, representing a sublimation of the jeweller's art, the "snow" gemsetting testifies to exceptional know-how. The term "snow" refers to the characteristic consisting of concealing entire sections of metal with individually cut and adjusted precious stones
• 101 Manchette - The radiantly sparkling new Joaillerie 101 Manchette is clothed in a labyrinth of stones and materials. Supple, luminous and resolutely deconstructed, it plays with space like the exceptional jewellery creations that have inspired it and celebrates its 80th anniversary this year. The world's smallest watch movement with a 101 mechanism has always represented an endless source of creative delight for Jaeger-LeCoultre jewellers and watchmakers and has adorned the daintiest and noblest wrists, including that of Queen Elizabeth II on her Coronation Day.
Such masterpieces could naturally only have sprung to life in the workshops of the Manufacture, which master the subtle complexities of mechanical perfection and the most delicate gem-setting techniques. Over the years, the Manufacture Jaeger-LeCoultre has developed unique new gem-setting techniques that illuminate the finest contemporary watch creations. Born from the dexterous fingers of genuine artists, they celebrate the union of beauty and precision.
