It made its first flight on May 24th 1962, strapped on the wrist of astronaut Scott Carpenter during the orbital flight of the Aurora 7 capsule. The special feature of this model lies in the fact that all 24 hours in a day can be read off around a single circular sweep of the dial, thereby enabling one to differentiate between day and night, since this notion no longer exists in space. The Cosmonaute also offers a Flyback mechanism, an additional function allowing successive timing operations with no need to stop, return to zero and then restart the chronograph.

I received this Breitling Cosmonaute (A2232212G517) watch four days ago and this watch is the best. I love the fact that I don't have to put my reading glasses on to check the time. I''m getting it in silver also. If I want it to look like a bracelet I just turn the face to the bottom/inside of my wrist. Have gotten lots of coments on this watch.

A nice stylish Breitling watch. The band has started to show wear after a very short time (silver version shouldn't do that). Not great for people with small wrists as the band won't adjust too small. Fits like a braclet as the links don't flex if you take too many out.
