Audemars Piguet - Chefs-d'oeuvre exposes a l'Espace Horloger


Ces garde-temps seront integres a la toute nouvelle exposition permanente de l'Espace Horloger de la Vallee de Joux, une institution au service du rayonnement de la culture horlogere depuis plus de 15 ans.
Ouvert au public, l'Espace Horloger raconte le destin extraordinaire de la Vallee de Joux, une region isolee au climat peu hospitalier qui s'est imposee en deux siecles comme la Rome des montres a complications.


Entierement revisitee, l'exposition permanente presentera notamment 23 chefs-d'oeuvre issus des collections du Patrimoine Audemars Piguet. Parmi eux : une montre savonnette a quatre marteaux Westminster (1900), une rarissime montre-bracelet Art deco a calendrier complet (1928), deux grande complications (1950 et 1995), la Royal Oak d'origine (1972), la premiere montre-bracelet a tourbillon fabriquee en petites series (1986), une des premieres montre-bracelet a grande sonnerie de l'histoire de l'horlogerie (1994), ou encore la plus petite montre-bracelet a carillon trois marteaux (1998).


En plus de son soutien au developpement de la nouvelle scenographie, la maison Audemars Piguet a decide d'offrir au musee une montre de poche a chronographe rattrapante fabriquee dans ses ateliers en 1895. Ce garde-temps tres rare sera restaure pour l'occasion et accompagne d'un certificat d'origine. Il sera mis en vente par l'Espace Horloger pour soutenir ses projets au service du rayonnement de la culture horlogere.
1996, le premier musee horloger vaudois
L'ambition etait grande mais legitime. L'Espace Horloger permettait de mieux comprendre les technologies horlogeres de haut niveau et de decouvrir la diversite des mouvements a complications : repetition minute, grande sonnerie, chronographe a rattrapante, quantieme perpetuel, tourbillon et phase de lune, etc.
Deux etages d'exposition : horloges comtoises de la collection Albert Jean - plus de 200 pieces -, horloges anciennes du XVIe au XIXe d'Allemagne, d'Italie, de France et d'Angleterre et enfin, les garde-temps contemporains des horlogers presents a la Vallee, côtoyaient le spectaculaire squelette mammouth retrouve lors des fouilles dans la region. Si le Mammouth de Praz-Rodet a desormais deserte le musee, il aura resolument marque de son empreinte les lieux.
L'endroit est historique et les pieces de genie. Pourtant, les differentes salles de ce musee ne suffisent plus a susciter l'interêt des quelque trois mille visiteurs qui le frequentent annuellement. Et le tic-tac des pieces d'exception exposees s'essouffle progressivement…L'espace n'ouvre pas tous les jours et s'eloigne petit a petit de son rôle de temoin du patrimoine horloger de la Vallee et de perennisation des savoir-faire. L'objectif est alors de retrouver une image et une communication adaptees a ses ambitions et de faire connaître plus largement son existence, son emplacement et ses singularites.
