  • Panerai - Radiomir 1940 3 Days GMT Oro Rosso - 47mm

The cushion case of the new Radiomir 1940 3 Days GMT Oro Rosso, 47 mm in diameter, is made entirely of 5nPt red gold, an alloy with a higher percentage of copper than usual and a small amount of platinum which helps to minimise the oxidation of the case. The polished red gold bezel surrounds the brown dial with a satine soleil finish. The seconds hand rotates in the small counter at nine o'clock, while the arrow-shaped central hand can be used to indicate a second time zone, hence the engraved letters "GMT" at six o'clock.

The new Radiomir 1940 3 Days GMT Oro Rosso is powered by the Panerai P.3001/10 calibre hand-wound movement and is revealed through the sapphire crystal case back. It has a power reserve of three days as indicated on the back. The indicator is connected directly to the spring of one of the two barrels, both of which are skeletonised, as are the bridges with brushed finish. The movement also has the device for rapid setting of the hour hand, which can be moved forward or backwards in one-hour jumps of without interfering with the running of the seconds hand.

The Radiomir 1940 3 Days GMT Oro Rosso is water-resistant to 50 meters. The timepiece is mounted on a brown alligator strap secured by a red gold buckle.

  • Panerai - Mare Nostrum Titanio 52mm

In 1943, the Panerai family created the "Mare Nostrum" chronograph for the deck officers of the Royal Italian Navy "Mare Nostrum". This name had already been used by Guido Panerai in 1924 for what was probably the first Panerai chronograph, but all traces of this first model have been lost. However a few prototypes of the 1943 chronograph still exist, and these have enabled the new watch to be reconstructed with great technical accuracy and similar aesthetic characteristics.

The new Mare Nostrum Titanio is a Special Edition of only 150 units. It faithfully reproduces the 1943 model, updating it to the highest standards of today's high quality watchmaking but with some fundamental differences. The 52mm tonneau-shaped case of the new model is no longer made of steel but of brushed titanium. The wide flat bezel, the screw back and the winding crown engraved with the words "Mare Nostrum" are also made of brushed titanium, as well as the two classic push buttons of the chronograph functions. The readings are indicated by the central seconds hand and by a subsidiary minutes counter dial at three o'clock. The continuous seconds hand rotates in a subsidiary dial at nine o'clock.

Protected by a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment, the dial is made in two levels and, instead of the dark green of the vintage model, it is a sophisticated tobacco brown, which coordinates with the brown leather strap and its ecru stitching.

The timepiece houses a hand-wound manufacture movement, the OP XXV calibre - developed on a Minerva 13-22 base featuring a balance wheel making 18,000 vibrations per hour, like the Angelus movement of 1943. This hand-finished calibre has a column wheel and a swan neck regulator. The bridges are made of Maillechort, a nickel silver alloy that is particularly hard to work, bearing a Côtes de Geneve finish.

  • Panerai - Radiomir Firenze 3 Days Acciaio - 47mm

The Radiomir Firenze is entirely hand-engraved by Italian master craftsmen, making each timepiece unique. Its design is inspired by motifs existing in the Florentine iconography. Similar to the inlays adorning the marble facades of the Florentine's churches, the engravings enhance the elegant structure of the case, enfolding the case-band and the crown. Shaped by the master craftsmen, the lines appear to form geometric figures creating a harmonious piece. Some symbolic details stand out, such as the Florentine lily, emblem of Firenze.

The engraving is entirely done by hand, and each case takes one craftsman more than a week to finish. The geometric and floral motifs are first drawn as a temporary outline - using powdered chalk or magnesium powder - and then engraved with a burin. The engraved surfaces are formed of very thin parallel lines, giving depth to the design and accentuating the contrasts between light and dark.

The new Radiomir Firenze houses a hand-wound mechanical, P.3000 calibre, executed entirely by Panerai and visible through the sapphire case-back. Two mainspring barrels, connected in series, provide 3 days of power and the balance wheel oscillates at a rate of 21,600 vibrations per hour. The P.3000 movement is equipped with a system that allows the adjustment of the hour, through the decorated crown, without interfering with the running minutes or the timekeeping of the movement. Consistent with its origins as a watch originally designed for military use underwater, the new Radiomir Firenze (PAM00604) is water-resistant to 100 metres. It is supplied with a black alligator strap.

The Panerai Radiomir Firenze is limited to 99 pieces and is only sold at the Florence boutique in Italy.

  • Panerai - Luminor Submersible 1950 Carbotech™ 3 Days Automatic - 47 mm

As well as providing exceptional technical performance, carbotech has an uneven, matt black appearance, which varies according the cutting of the material: the result is that each watch is truly unique.

The structure of carbotech is designed to enhance both the aesthetics and the performance of the material, which is used to make the case, the rotating bezel and the lever bridge which protects the winding crown.

Every detail of the design of the watch draws its inspiration from the history of the brand. The Luminor 1950 case, developed by Panerai in the late 1940s for the Italian Navy, is enhanced by a rotating bezel with markers consisting of small studs, inspired by the model created for the Egyptian Navy in 1956.

The dial of the new Luminor Submersible 1950 Carbotech™ is black with applied hour markers, the date window is at three o'clock and the small seconds counter adorned with Panerai blue details is at nine o'clock. The screw-in caseback is made of titanium with black treatment. The P.9000 automatic calibre beats at the heart of the watch. It is water-resistant to 300 metres.

The new Luminor Submersible 1950 CarbotechTM is fitted with a black rubber strap, personalised for the first time by the OP logo in Panerai blue, and it is supplied with a spare strap and a screwdriver.

In 1993 Angelo Bonati entered the fashion world, holding the position of Sales and Marketing Worldwide Director in the Ginori group and Sales and Marketing Director of the Trussardi group. In 1997 Angelo Bonati returned to the Vendôme group, overseeing the public launch of the Officine Panerai brand, of which he has been CEO since the year 2000.

  • Panerai - Luminor Submersible 1950 Amagnetic 3 Days Automatic Titanio

The creative energy of Officine Panerai's Workshop of Ideas is demonstrated in the Luminor Submersible 1950 Amagnetic 3 Days Automatic Titanio, the new model which is a novel synthesis of the strict respect for traditional values and authenticity of the Panerai brand, and the continuous search for technically advanced solutions.

    Remarkable resistance to magnetic fields
For Panerai, innovation is above all about functionality, and in the Luminor Submersible 1950 Amagnetic 3 Days Automatic Titanio it is seen in its special case construction which ensures a remarkable degree of resistance to magnetic fields: 40,000 A/m (ampere per metre), a limit more than eight times greater than the value specified by the international standards of the Normes de l'Industrie Horlogere Suisse (NIHS 90-10). Such a high limit is achieved by the use of a special internal case made of soft iron of the highest purity, which encloses and isolates the movement, forming a Faraday cage that diverts the flow of magnetic fields. The soft iron case is immediately beneath the dial, which is made of the same material.

This case structure is useful not only in extreme environmental situations but also in daily life, in that watches are often exposed to magnetic fields generated by electric charges and currents emanating from objects in common use, such as household appliances, computers and cell phones. Such magnetic fields can noticeably alter the rate of the watch and even stop the movement: a possibility that is virtually non-existent in the new Luminor Submersible 1950 Amagnetic 3 Days Automatic Titanio.

    New ceramic and titanium bezel
The soft iron internal case of the Luminor Submersible 1950 Amagnetic 3 Days Automatic Titanio is contained within a classic Luminor Submersible case of brushed titanium, fitted with the lever bridge which locks the winding crown and thus helps in achieving water-resistance to a depth of 300 metres. The design of the watch includes a feature which is completely new in Panerai watches: applied to the rotating titanium bezel, inspired by that of the models made by Panerai for the Egyptian Navy in the 1950s, is a disc of opaque black ceramic, on which the linear and dot-shaped titanium markers are fixed. The bezel rotates only in a clockwise direction, to prevent accidental movement interfering with the measurement of the time of the dive.

    The P.9000 manufacture automatic movement
Behind the quintessential black dial, with its distinctive applied linear hour markers coated with Super-LumiNova®, lies the P.9000 automatic movement, executed entirely by the Officine Panerai manufacture in Neuchâtel. With a diameter of 13¾ lignes, 28 jewels, a variable inertia balance and Incabloc® anti-shock protection, the movement is distinguished by the precision of its construction and by the two spring barrels, which are continually wound by an oscillating rotor in both directions, providing a power reserve of three days. The movement also incorporates a convenient system for setting the hour hand which can be moved forward and backward in jumps of exactly one hour, at the same time adjusting the date display accordingly.

Identified by the reference PAM00389, the Luminor Submersible 1950 Amagnetic 3 Days Automatic Titanio is supplied with wide rubber strap fastened by a classic trapezoidal brushed titanium buckle, a spare strap and the tool for replacing it.

  • Panerai - New Luminor Marina 1950 3 Days Automatic

The Luminor Marina, bestseller of the Officine Panerai collections, is presented for the first time in the completely new size of 42 mm in the latest Luminor Marina 1950 3 Days Automatic, available in two versions: the sportier one in steel (PAM00392), and the more elegant one in red gold (PAM00393).

The new size of the Luminor 1950 case has not changed the classic proportions of this model faithfully inspired by the watches created by Panerai in the 1940s onward for the commandos of the Italian Navy. Like its period predecessors, the new Luminor Marina has the bridge with locking lever, which helps to ensure a high degree of water--resistance and also protects the winding crown from accidental shocks. The crown itself operates a convenient setting mechanism by which the hour hand is rotated in one--hour steps in either direction, also adjusting the date correspondingly, without interrupting the running of the watch.

The dial, simple and quintessential in its iconic design, has the sandwich construction devised by Panerai in the 1930s to ensure maximum clarity and legibility both underwater and in the lowest lighting conditions: two superimposed discs contain a layer of Super--LumiNova® which shines through cut--outs in the upper disc corresponding to the hour markers and numerals, providing exceptional visibility. In the version in steel the dial is black and the watch is fitted with an alligator strap of the same colour, while in the version made of red gold the dial and strap are an elegant brown which harmonises perfectly with the special ecru--coloured Super--LumiNova®.

While the design of the watch is closely linked to the history of the brand and inspired by it, the choice of materials and the manufacture P.9000 calibre demonstrate Panerai's continuous commitment to research and development into the best technical solutions. The steel of the new Luminor Marina is AISI 316L stainless steel, an alloy with a low carbon content notable for its high resistance to corrosion. The red gold of the more elegant version is 5Npt: a special alloy with an unusually high percentage of copper (24.1%) which gives more depth to the colour, and 0.4% platinum which helps to prevent any oxidation of the metal.

The movement of the new Luminor Marina 1950 3 Days Automatic is the automatic P.9000 calibre, completely designed and executed by the Panerai manufacture in Neuchâtel. It has a power reserve of 3 days and it is driven by two spring barrels wound by an oscillating weight which operates in both directions. The calibre is 13¾ lignes and 7.9 mm thick, with 28 jewels and a balance wheel which oscillates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour.
