The funds we generate ensure that we will be able to offer support in the future to important social projects like Laureus Girls in Sport, Laureus Street Soccer or our programme for the integration of young people with disabilities," said Evelyn Fankhauser, General Manager of the Laureus Foundation Switzerland.

As part of the ninth Laureus Charity Night which took place on the 22nd of November in Zurich, 600 prominent figures from the worlds of sport, business, politics and show business collected donations totalling CHF 1.1 million. Among the items that went under the hammer were an exclusive Portuguese Tourbillon Mystere Retrograde Unique Piece Laureus Charity Night from IWC Schaffhausen (CHF 150,000) and a 1960 Mercedes-Benz 190 SL W21 (CHF 300,000). Many big names were invited to the exclusive gala evening. They included athletics legend Edwin Moses, triathlon world champion Jan Frodeno, racing cyclist Fabian Cancellara, football coach Roberto Di Matteo and American soul singer Aloe Blacc, who was also the evening's star turn.

The Laureus Sport for Good Foundation was founded in South Africa 15 years ago. In 2007, IWC and Mercedes-Benz Switzerland jointly set up the Laureus Foundation Switzerland. In the past few years, they have generated over CHF 10 million in donations. The charitable institution uses the power of sport to promote personal development and the integration of socially, economically or otherwise disadvantaged children and young people into society. Among other things, it also puts its ambas- sadors from the world of sport at the highest level into contact with young people to show them the possibilities for a brighter future.

The Portugueser Hand-Wound Eight Days Edition '75th Anniversary' features the purist design of the original Portuguese and forges an important link with the origins of this iconic watch family, further augmenting the significance of the collaboration," said Mr Matthieu Dupont, Managing Director of IWC South East Asia.

The unique timepiece is an extremely rare single-watch edition from the Swiss watch manufacturer. It is based on IWC's acclaimed Portuguese Hand-Wound Eight Days Edition '75th Anniversary', which was produced to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Portuguese watch family. This classic design is one of the main reasons that the IWC Portuguese is considered a true icon in the world of watchmaking.

Encased in polished 18-carat red gold, the unique timepiece features a classic black dial with ecru Super-LumiNova® accents. This combination of case material and variant dial sets it apart from all other existing models of the Portuguese Hand-Wound Eight Days Edition '75th Anniversary'. It is equipped with the manual-winding IWC-manufactured 59215 calibre, which is engraved with the words "10th Anniversary Revolution".

The Portuguese Hand-Wound Eight Days Edition "75th Anniversary" Unique Piece for Revolution will be presented for sale in the Sotheby's Hong Kong Important Watches Auction on 6th October 2015. All proceeds from the sale will go towards Smile Asia, an international alliance of charities that provide free surgery to children with facial deformities. Smile Asia is one of the most prominent charities for children in Asia, with programmatic implementation in 13 countries.

The unique timepiece will be presented with a special IWC packaging featuring a commemorative description plate engraved with the words "Tribute to the 10th Anniversary of Revolution".

At the Tribeca Film Festival® in New York, IWC Schaffhausen toasted the art of filmmaking and showcased their support for emerging artists at the third annual "For the Love of Cinema" gala dinner. IWC CEO Georges Kern cohosted the evening with Tribeca Film Festival® founders Jane Rosenthal, Robert De Niro, and Craig Hatkoff. The luxury watch manufacturer delighted the 250 notable guests with the presentation of the IWC Filmmaker Award, which went to this year's honoree, Deb Shoval. IWC brand ambassador Christoph Waltz and the host, comedian Joel McHale, entertained the crowd before an exclusive performance by singer Sarah McLachlanclosed the evening's event.

The Swiss luxury watch manufacturer founded its IWC Filmmaker Award several years ago to support emerging filmmakers on their path of innovation and creation. IWC presents the award as part of its commitment to the film festivals of Beijing, Zurich, London, and Dubai, and now for the third time in its role as Official 'Festival-Time' Partner of the Tribeca Film Festival in New York.

IWC CEO Georges Kern presented this year's award winner Deb Shoval with the $25,000 film grant as well as a Portofino Hand-Wound Eight Days Edition "Tribeca Film Festival" (Ref. IW510111). IWC created this special timepiece - limited to just 100 watches - in honor of its partnership with the Tribeca Film Festival. Apart from this, the brand auctioned off the Portofino Monopusher Edition "Tribeca Film Festival" Unique Piece (Ref. IW515105) in 18-carat white gold at an online-only auction through Christie's, that garnered $50,000, with the entire proceeds supporting Tribeca Film Institute.
