This spring, German watchmaker Glashutte Original unveiled several elegant and glamorous new models in its Pavonina collection of watches for the modern woman. WorldTempus already presented the 18 carat red gold models. Let's discover today the stainless steel pieces.

The 2015 new models feature a newly designed dial with circular centre and Arabic numerals. With dials ranging from minimalist silver to delicate blue mother-of-pearl, cabochon or brillant-cut diamond indexes and lugs studded with 42 brillant-cut diamonds, the stainless steel watches reflect the fascinating, facetted diversity of women. All dials are crafted in an elaborate, sophisticated process by the manufactory's own dial department in Pforzheim, Germany.

Straps are offered in a range of fashionably feminine colours ranging from stylish grey to midnight blue in Roma-satin and from shimmering cream-white to glacier blue in calfskin leather. Each model is also offered with a delicate metal bracelet whose links echo the cushion shape of the case. All are fitted with Glashutte Original's exclusive fold-over clasp, introduced in 2014.

The new Pavonina models feature the absolute precision and user-friendly comfort assured by the Calibre 03-02 quartz movement, newly developed by the manufactory's inhouse design team. A special feature offers three times the standard magnetic protection, shielding the sensitive mechanism from the influence of modern mobile electronic devices and thus enhancing the quality of the watch.
The plate is decorated with the characteristic Glashutte stripe finish, and the engraved logo appears in gold on the silver plate. The polished case back provides ample space for individual engravings and personal dedications.

Berlin's most important cultural event came to a glamorous end last Saturday with the announcement that the Chinese film "Black Coal, Thin Ice", had won the "Golden Bear". The 64th Berlinale gave expression to the creative strength and diversity of the cinema today and celebrated the world's best films and filmmakers. 
This year the Berlinale hosted a record number of visitors, with the sale of 330,000 tickets. 
From February 7-15, the Glashutte Original Lounge (located on the 24th floor of the Kollhoff Tower on Potsdamer Platz) offered visitors an impressive view on the red carpet below. Along with representatives of the press and media, business partners and watch connoisseurs, the Saxon watchmaker welcomed more than 700 guests from agencies and film crews, who took advantage of the exceptional location high above Berlin's rooftops to hold special receptions and events.
Among those present were the actors Dieter Hallervorden and Ilja Richter as well as the film crew for the Swiss production "The Circle", which was presented recently. Writer and producer Katja Eichinger, who also served this year as one of the three members of the jury for the „Made in Germany - Perspektive Fellowship" award, made a point of visiting the lounge.
Since 2012, Glashutte Original and the Perspektive Deutsches Kino section of the festival have awarded the fellowship, funded entirely by the Saxon watch manufactory, to talented young German directors. On February 7, 2014 Katja Eichinger presented the award trophy, which is built each year in the manufactory's own Alfred Helwig School of Watchmaking, to the "Perspektive" section head Linda Söffker. She accepted the prize on behalf of the two winners in 2014, Sandra Kaudelka and Sebastian Mez.
A very special honorary guest visited Glashutte Original on February 12: British director Ken Loach, who was awarded this year an honorary Golden Bear in recognition of his life's work, celebrated his award together with numerous friends, guests and industry colleagues in the watchmaker's lounge.
Along with the spectacular views and enchanting atmosphere, guests were impressed by the fascinating exhibition "Him & Her", developed in cooperation with Deutsche Kinemathek.
Unforgettable silver-screen couples from different eras were presented together with
exquisite timepieces for him and her. Memorable quotes from a number of classic movies
brought to life such perennial themes as devotion, love and passion.
Following the successful cooperation and reinforcement of its commitment this year, the Saxon watch manufactory is already looking forward to the 65th Berlin International Film Festival next year. Since 2011 Glashutte Original has been an official partner of the Berlin International Film Festival. With its support of the "Perspektive Deutsches Kino" section of the festival, and, beginning this year, of the "Retrospective" section as well, the German watchmaker is proud to play an important role in the festival and the art of filmmaking.
The Retrospective, entitled ''Aesthetics of Shadow'', is the second film programme curated together with the Museum of Modern Art. Thanks to the cooperation between the Berlinale and the Museum of Modern Art the series of films will also be shown in New York in April 2014.

The graceful, 31 x 31 mm timepieces of the Pavonina Collection are offered in three different versions of the case: in coolly brilliant stainless steel, contemporary bi-colour combining stainless steel and red gold, and a warm, radiant 18 ct red gold.

Rich in fascinating detail, the dials are crafted in an elaborate, sophisticated process by the company's own dial manufactory. From minimalist elegance to delicate, shimmering mother of pearl and glamorous motifs set out in diamonds, they reflect the brilliant, facetted diversity of women.

The PanoGraph signals the return and contemporary evolution of a most remarkable timepiece. Twelve years ago at the Basel watch fair, Glashutte Original presented the PanoRetroGraph. A quintessential illustration of the art of fine watchmaking in Germany, its startling asymmetrical dial design, its unprecedented "retro" chronograph mechanism and 30-minute chronograph totalizer earned immediate acclaim from critics and customers alike. The limited edition of 50 pieces in platinum soon sold out. This was the timepiece that launched the entire Pano line of hand-crafted mechanical timepieces, among them its immediate successor, the PanoGraph, first presented at Basel in 2002.

Today, Glashutte Original presents the PanoGraph, a contemporary heir to its illustrious predecessors. The PanoGraph takes advantage of a larger case (diameter 40.0 mm) and expansive dial to represent the Pano line's characteristic asymmetric visuals in a distinctly modern and contemporary manner. Favoured by the larger and cylindrical case, the new design distributes the elegant interlocking hour/minute and subsidiary seconds dials to the left, while Glashutte Original's compelling big date display, the Panorama Date, takes up its usual position at 4 o'clock. The chronograph's remarkable 30-minute totalizer represents the original design in a contemporary look with a supremely elegant set of three cumulative ten-minute scales with three separate pointers. Two chronograph pushers at 4 and 2 o'clock are labelled in black, START-STOP and FLY-BACK, respectively, the latter indicating the chronograph reset mechanism, the former the standard chronograph timing operations.

Presented in a red gold case with rose gold hour indexes and hands and rose gold stop/seconds hand on the main dial and a rose gold subsidiary seconds hand, the PanoGraph visuals represent the epitome of simplicity and aesthetic harmony: like all Pano dials, the design was developed in accordance with divine proportion, the fascinating golden ratio deployed by artists in extraordinary works of art, music and architecture from antiquity to the present day.

At the heart of this superb mechanical wonder is the Calibre 61-03, designed and hand-crafted in the Glashutte Original manufactory. The manually wound column wheel chronograph is outfitted with a classic switching wheel that operates the various chronograph functions, including start, stop, reset and a satisfying flyback mechanism allowing one to reset the chronograph without first having to stop it: all functions are accessible through the two chronograph pushers on the right side of the case. Easily visible through the sapphire crystal case back are the characteristic features and finishings of Glashutte Original movements, including the traditional three-quarter plate with Glashutte ribbing, screw-mounted gold chatons, screw balance, and swan-neck fine adjustment. The PanoGraph is available with a black Louisiana alligator or brown nubuck alligator leather strap, slightly broader than prior versions.
