TAG Heuer - 50th Anniversary Of The Carrera

TAG Heuer, a brand synonymous with motor racing showcased the evolution of automobiles and timepieces over the last 50 years. The TAG Heuer Carrera series was a result of Jack Heuer's passion for motor racing. The iconic Carrera is the first sports chronograph designed specifically for professional drivers and sports-car enthusiasts.  The first Carrera chronograph, born in 1963, was the black and white "Panda" edition with tachymeter. In 1969, the patented Carrera Chronomatic Calibre 11, the world's first automatic chronograph was unveiled.  Faithful to its genes of innovation after this journey of 50 years, TAG Heuer introduced state of the art new timepieces - TAG Heuer CARRERA Calibre 36 Chronograph Flyback "Racing"; TAG Heuer CARRERA Calibre 8 Grande Date - GMT - COSC; TAG Heuer CARRERA CALIBRE 16 Date; TAG Heuer CARRERA CALIBRE 1887 CHRONOGRAPH - Jack Heuer Edition and the Heuer Carrera Calibre 17 - Jack Heuer 80 years Edition.
At the 50 years milestone, the brand celebrated the rich history of the TAG Heuer Carrera and its affinity to motor sports. Vintage car enthusiasts that are members of the exclusive Heritage Motoring Club of India came together at the Grand Hotel in New Dehli to exhibit their bevy of beauties spanning over the last 50 years (1963 -2013). The driveway of the hotel sparkled with automobile royalty that included the iconic Carreras, Mustangs, Fords, Buicks, Mercedes, Rolls Royces and many more totalling to 50 Vintage Cars.  After the press conference, the guests headed for a memorable drive. Brand ambassador Shahrukh Khan led the convoy through picturesque South Delhi. Elegance and style: the drive was reminiscent of the golden time that the Carrera has seen since its launch in 1963. Brand Ambassador Shahrukh Khan commented: "This is yet another unique experience in my association with TAG Heuer.
