The six watches Chopard has submitted to the GPHG have been retained by the jury and gone through the pre-selections. Thus, the models L.U.C Perpetual T (Grande Complication watch category), Happy Sport Medium Automatic (Ladies' watch), L.U.C Engine One H (Innovation), L'Heure du Diamant (Jewellery), Superfast Power Control (Sport) et Mille Miglia 2013 (Petite Aiguille) will participate in the final stage of the contest.

With the L.U.C Perpetual T, Chopard combines perpetual calendar and tourbillon along with more than one-week of operating autonomy. The watch is chronometer-certified for precision and bears the Poinçon de Geneve for the quality of its craftsmanship.
The Perpetual T brings the date to the foreground in the shape of a large twin-aperture date display. At 9 o'clock, the day of the week takes precedence over a day/night indication; while the months share the 3 o'clock space with the leap-year cycle. With the four barrels of the Quattro system, the Perpetual T has a nine-day power reserve.
The tourbillon of the Perpetual T sits enthroned at 6 o'clock, topped by a steel bridge meticulously polished to a mirror finish.
The 43 mm-diameter rose gold case of the Perpetual T frames a solid gold dial adorned with a hand-cut guilloche motif. The entire L.U.C Calibre 02.15-L has been hand-decorated in accordance with the finest watchmaking traditions: the plates are circular-grained, the screws polished, the bridges bevelled and adorned with a vertical Côtes de Geneve motif and the jewels are set into gold chatons.
Happy Sport Medium Automatic
For its 20th anniversary, the Happy Sport collection welcomes a mechanical interpretation in the shape of the new Happy Sport Medium Automatic. The famous moving diamonds add an unprecedented mechanical dimension to their entrancing natural charm.
The new Happy Sport Medium Automatic reveals a guilloche silver-toned dial, a backdrop against which to highlight the seven moving diamonds. On the back, a sapphire crystal let see its mechanical self-winding movement adorned with a straight Côtes de Geneve motif also known as Geneva stripes. Its 36 mm-diameter steel or 18ct rose gold case is water-resistant to 30 metres and fitted with an alligator leather strap or an 18ct rose gold bracelet.
L.U.C Engine One H
The L.U.C Engine One is an aesthetic hybrid combining authentic automobile mechanics with Fine Watchmaking. The finishes on its Chopard Manufacture tourbillon movement evoke those typically appearing on engines, while its horizontal layout reflects the design of racing-car cockpits.
The watch is equipped with the hand-wound calibre with a tourbillon regulator L.U.C 04.02-L. "propelling" a titanium case.The openings in the movement are a nod to the openworked design of a racing-car air intake. Engine-block cylinder heads inspired the grooves engraved on the dial-side bridges. For functional reasons, the latter are in fact an integral part of the main plate of the movement. The latter is visible from both sides of the "machine" through two flat sapphire crystal watch glasses.
L.U.C. Engine One H provides an ideally legible display of its various items of information. While the hours and minutes are shown by central hands, the power reserve is read off on the left, much like a fuel gauge. The small seconds are fitted on the tourbillon and appear on the right, like a speedometer. Both the inner and outer sides of the alligator strap with its five rows of overstitching echo the aesthetic of automobile upholstery from the 1960s and 1970s.
L'Heure du Diamant
When jewellery tradition meets watchmaking expertise, Chopard's gifted exponents of the different artistic crafts unite their talents in creating "L'Heure du Diamant".
From draughtsman to watchmaker, jeweller, gemsetter and polisher, the full range of specialists unite their skills in giving shape to the most daring dreams. Time is an essential factor in making an Haute Joaillerie watch since each of them demands several hundred hours of work.
The Heure du Diamant watch houses houses a self-winding mechanical movement in its 18-carat rose gold case. The watch displays the hours and minutes. The dial, bezel and bracelet are set with a refined combination of navette, baguette and brilliant-cut diamonds.
Superfast Power Control
The Superfast Power Control belongs to the Classic Racing collection that encompasses models inspired by the world of car racing. It is equipped with a Chopard movemententirely designed, developed and assembled in-house, in the Fleurier Ebauches workshops. Its imposing steel case boasts a generous 45 mm diameter.
For many years, the House of Chopard has been a loyal partner of legendary classic car races, including the Grand Prix de Monaco Historique and the Mille Miglia.
The watch carries a number of references to the world of competitive car racing, starting with the dial of each, displaying silver brushed vertical lines against a black background evoking the cooling fins found on air-cooled racing engines. The minute numerals adopt the appearance of the markers that adorn sports-car rev-counters and speedometers. The hour, minute and seconds counters provide the legibility required in tense situations.
Equipped with a steel folding clasp, the natural rubber strap carries the smooth tread of the slick tyres immediately identifiable with high-speed track motor racing.
 
Even the movements have been specially prepared. All the bridges are openworked with thin parallel lines in the style of cooling vents on sports cars.
The Superfast Power Control model houses the Chopard Calibre 01.02-M offering a range of functions comprising hours, minutes, small seconds at 6 o'clock, the date through a window at 3 o'clock, and a power-reserve indicator in a sector-type display at 9 o'clock.
Mille Miglia 2013
For the past 25 years, Chopard has partnered the Mille Miglia race. The entirely redesigned GMT chronograph celebrating the 2013 edition of the race is a nod to the design of historical racing cars.
The Mille Miglia 2013 is a self-winding chronograph featuring a 24-hour dual-time indication and a date display. The 42.8 mm-diameter case of the Mille Miglia 2013 is topped by a generous 44 mm bezel. The quest for optimal ergonomics had also led to revamping the lugs that are now short and tapering so as to secure the watch more firmly to the wrist. The mushroom-shaped chronograph pushers enable smooth handling thanks to the nonslip knurled grid pattern on their surface ensuring a firm grip. Finally, the rubber strap with the 1960's Dunlop racing-tyre motif is integrated with the case.
The dial of the Mille Miglia 2013 chronograph focuses on readability. The red sweep seconds hand is tipped with white to make it stand out. The light grey chronograph counters make a striking contrast with the rest of the anthracite grey dial. The tachometric scale appears on the bezel, while the dual-time reading is positioned on the dial between the hour-markers. The date is shown in the red arrow that has become the race logo. The hands are enhanced with Superluminova to ensure the watch can be read at night.
The colour symbolising Italy's passion for automobiles is the chromatic theme of the Mille Miglia 2013 chronograph. This vibrant red shade frames the inner bezel ring, surrounds the counters and adorns the chronograph hands.
