The appearance of the Radiomir 1940 is classic, with the large cushion case - 45mm in diameter - of pure minimalist lines, its lugs formed out of the block of the case, a polished bezel and a cylindrical winding crown.
The case is made of two different types of titanium: grade 2 titanium for the caseband - a light alloy, resistant to corrosion and allowing complex machinings; and grade 5 titanium for the bezel and crown - an alloy which differs from the previous one in that it can be polished. The case is water-resistant to 10 bars (100m).

The brown dial is made with the characteristic sandwich construction created by Panerai in the 1930s to ensure the maximum visibility and legibility. The special Super-LumiNova® ecru gives the dial a vintage aspect. Also evoking the past of the brand are the characteristic small seconds dial at 9 o'clock, a unique moving element of the minimalist dial.

The P.4000 calibre can be admired through the sapphire caseback. This is the first manufacture automatic movement with a decentralised oscillating weight, completely designed and made in Panerai's manufacture in Neuchâtel. The decentralised rotor, much smaller in diameter than the calibre itself, enables the thickness of the movement to be substantially reduced (3.95 mm). The oscillating weight, made of tungsten, is very small and fitted within the movement instead of superimposed upon it. It winds in both directions, enabling it to accumulate a power reserve of three days, thanks to the use of two spring barrels connected in series. The P.4000 calibre also has the device which stops the balance when the winding crown is pulled out, so that the watch can be perfectly synchronised.

The Radiomir 1940 3 Days Automatic Titanio (PAM00619) is supplied with a brown buffalo leather strap, with contrasting stitching.

The new Luminor Submersible 1950 3 Days Chrono Flyback Automatic Titanio - 47mm is inspired by the military roots that characterised the florentine brand. The watch has the classical 47-mm Luminor Submersible case made of brushed titanium, which has hypoallergenic properties as well as extreme corrosion resistance, toughness and lightness. Thanks to its screw-down back and crown guard lever, the case is water-resistant to 30 atmospheres (approximately 300 metres) while a unidirectional rotating bezel allows wearers time their dives.

The Luminor Submersible 1950 3 Days Chrono Flynback Automatic Titanio is powered by Panerai's in-house Caliber P.9000, with automatic winding, a frequency of 28,800 vph, and a power reserve of three days from two barrels. The movement also includes a system for that can reset the hour hand backwards and forwards in one-hour jumps without interfering with the running of the minute hand. The timepiece also displays a flyback chronograph function, a chronograph of which the elapsed seconds hand can be stopped, returned to zero and restarted instantly with a single push of a button.

Two versions are available: the first one features a bezel made entirely of brushed titanium (PAM00614), while the second one has a special bezel made of titanium with a matte black ceramic finish (PAM00615). Their black dials feature applied luminous hour markers and are supremely readable. The watches come on a rubber strap. Both are supplied with a spare strap, a screwdriver and a special tool for replacing it.

Officine Panerai presents a new official advertising campaign that sees the Panerai watch, now more than ever before, as the absolute star of the advert: an iconic luxury sports watch capable of relating its own unique design, its history, its technical content and authenticity.

The new campaign, conceived by the Hi! Comunicazione agency in Milan and featuring photos by Raffaello Benedetti Bra, sees Panerai watches play the leading role in what is a forceful advertising message in its understated, elegant simplicity, a message expressed through different themes and subjects, offering a comprehensive view of the brand's fundamental values. The mood and tone of the ad are epic, highly memorable and together convey a classic-ness that transcends time and space, reinforced by short, sharp words.
In its launching phase, the campaign has two themes. The first is the history of Officine Panerai, its links with Florence of the second half of the nineteenth century - where the brand originated - and its role as supplier to the Italian Navy. The history of Panerai emerges in the campaign in a mythical dimension, like the military operations of the Navy raiding units which, in the '30s and '40s, carried out legendary feats wearing Panerai watches on their wrists. The sea provides the main setting, with all the visual elements expressing a message of strength, soundness and heroism.

The other theme is the perfect fusion between design and technology embodied by Panerai watches. The element of design emerges thanks to emblematic images of Panerai watches, whose iconic simplicity, harmony and refined details can be appreciated all at once. The sophisticated mechanisms of the movements made by Officine Panerai in its factory in Neuchâtel appear in the background, as if to conjure up the watches' inner soul, extraordinarily important yet hidden from view.
Both themes are interpreted with different creative ideas, subject to and expressed through an array of different watch models. The same themes will be further developed over time, so as to gradually explore the advertising strengths of the brand, particularly its Florentine origins, its associations with science and with the world of classic yachting. The overall campaign is modular and easily adapted to the many needs of what is a niche brand in its exclusivity, yet firmly established on all leading International markets.

The numerous campaign claims, to remain in English the world over ("Strength and Honour", "Design and Uniqueness", "Art and Science", "History and Heroes", etc…) are modular and can be adapted to preselected themes and subjects, playing on associations with concepts and values, underlining that the Panerai brand identity is the perfect combination of opposite, complementary or contiguous elements: Italian style and Swiss technology, tradition and innovation, simplicity and exclusivity.
The new advertising campaign has been created for the press (magazines and newspapers) and comes in quarter page, single page or - a new departure for the brand - double page ads. A digital media version is planned for a later stage.

In the history of Officine Panerai, wristwatches for left-handers appeared for the first time in the early 1940s, when the first examples were produced for the commandos of the Italian Navy with the winding crown and bridge protecting the crown on the left; today these are very rare and highly sought-after by collectors.
