Under the motto "German Watchmaking Art since 1845", Glashutte Original will present its craftsmanship and long tradition on a 4-months roadshow through China. From September 2 to December 22, 2013, the watchmaker will visit carefully selected hotspots around the country to give interested Chinese visitors an insight into the world of German precision engineering and watch manufacturing.
After having opened corporate boutiques in Shanghai, Beijing and Hong Kong, Glashutte Original is now focusing on additional important cities such as Harbin, Chengdu or Xi'an. Altogether, the roadshow will have seven stops, each stop lasting seven days.
Tiny individual components, delicate dials and in-house movements will be displayed inside a special interactive table. The core collection of Glashutte Original's timepieces including a number of new models will also be shown as well as multimedia presentations of the manufacturing process and - in selected locations - live demonstrations of a watchmaker. This way, Glashutte Original aims to provide an authentic and fascinating introduction to the art of German watchmaking as it has been practiced in Glashutte since 1845.

Eric Singer and Doc McGhee, KISS "Monster Tour" manager, were greeted by Gunter Wiegand, the Managing Director of Glashutte Original. Eric Singer was shown the manufactory and was given detailed insights into the production process at Glashutte Original. In several departments, Eric Singer was able to observe the accuracy and the craftsmanship of the employees at work. Later, both guests visited the German Watch Museum and the Glashutte Original Boutique in Dresden.
 

The current tour of the band, which led KISS from Berlin to Prague, provided Eric Singer with an opportunity to stop on his way to the Czech Republic to visit the manufactory and meet with Glashutte Original staff. Singer was impressed by the passion displayed by the fine mechanics and watchmakers he met as well as by the current collection he was shown after his tour.
