I have been wearing my new A. Lange & Sohne watch for about 4 weeks and I am so happy with it. It is classy and elegant, yet fun and funky. It is perfect for everyday wear. I love the band, although it took a little time to figure out. I would highly recommend this watch to anyone.

The epitome of elegance that is aesthetically powerful as ever thanks to its finely balanced design, the Lange 1 appealed to women well before the appearance of the Petite Lange 1 broadened the circle of female devotees. Today, the exclusively femi- nine model pursues its winning ways by adopting a pale and yet intense blue dial. To achieve this, the solid silver underplate is coated with a blue background and then a thin layer of mother-of-pearl. This unusual face is framed by an exterior in subtly matching shades (as illustrated) or with a pink gold case on a leather strap. The movement side reveals the distinctive features of the German Manufacture, such as the three-quarter plate adorned with "côtes de Glashutte", gold chatons held by blued screws, the hand-engraved balance bridge and swan's neck fine regulation.

Reinhard Meis' book entitled "A. Lange & Söhne - Great Timepieces from Saxony" is a standard work of encyclopaedic precision and a must for every true aficionado of mechanical watchmaking. Now it is also available in English and Italian language.
A writer of acclaimed books on horology, Reinhard Meis invested eight years to thoroughly revise his standard work dedicated to Germany's most famous watch brand A. Lange & Söhne which is highly coveted by watch enthusiasts all over the world. With his pro¬foundly detailed know¬ledge, the author builds a bridge from the grand heritage of the brand in the 19th century to its cur¬rent emi¬nence at the pinnacle of international precision watchmaking.

In December 2011, the standard work was already published in German language by the Munich-based publishing house Callwey as a two-volume treatise. Now the two books with a total of 916 pages and more than 2700 illustrations, mostly in colour, is also available in English and Italian language at book stores. Furthermore, a Chinese version is planned to be ready in May.
Entitled "A Momentous Century - The Glashutte Watch Industry 1845-1945", the first volume constitutes a socio-political and historic foundation. It provides an account of the early days of precision horology in Saxony and features biographies of famous watch-makers. Lange's life from his beginnings as a watchmaker in Dresden and the incorporation of the first manufactory to his ingenuity in mechanical design and his dedication to social causes. Tracing the brand's heyday under the auspices of Ferdinand's sons Richard and Emil, Reinhard Meis describes the subsequent expropria¬tion of the manufactory after World War II and its re-establishment as Lange Uhren GmbH by Walter Lange, a member of the founding family's fourth generation. A compendium of current timepieces from the LANGE 1 to the LANGE ZEITWERK forms the conclusion of the second volume and corroborates the role of A. Lange & Söhne as one of the pace¬makers of Europe's horological culture in the 21st century.
