The Sea-Dweller 16660 'Triple Six' was the first Sea-Dweller to be fitted with a sapphire glass. The first series used matte dials (divided in Mark 1 and Mark 2 variants) while the second series used the newer gloss dials. It was replaced by the 16600 in 1988.

The present watch was made for the Comex diving corp - it is part of the first series of watches delivered between 1980 and 1984.

This is an elegant and intriguing skeleton watch. My only quibble is that, apparently like most self-winding watches, if you take it off, say to go to bed at night, it will stop after about six hours.

I bought this Rolex Sea-Dweller watch for everyday work and outdoor pursuits. I have been very disappointed. The watchband lasted about one month before the grommets started loosening and falling out. Then the second hand fell out, and is laying in the display. I have had this watch less than three months, and have only worn it to work and outdoors for hikes, etc;
