Eberhard & Co - Classic Team Eberhard on the podium
A new success for Classic Team Eberhard. The vintage car stable led by Corrado Corneliani, arriving from a 2011 filled with success and a first positive trial in the 2012 edition of the Winter Marathon - the opening race of the season in which the team came overall second - stepped on the podium of the Coppa delle Alpi.
The second edition of the Classic Regularity race for vintage cars, which set off from Darfo Boario Terme on 9 February and ended on 12 February in Ponte di Legno, with a track that touched the main Alpine passes between Italy, Switzerland and Austria, from St. Moritz to Val Mustair (Switzerland) and from Nauders (Austria) to Bolzano, confirmed the Team's excellent competitive edge. The Fontana-Scarabelli team ranked third, on the Fiat 1100 TV (1975).
The final ranking, at the end of a race made even harder by the cold weather, which caused the withdrawal of 13 of the 104 vehicles that started the race, was dominated by the consolidated crew made up of Cane-Galliani on a 1938 Lancia Aprilia, followed by Aiolfi-Zambianchi in a 1960 Fiat Osca 1500 Coupe, who came second.
The rest of the Classic Team Eberhard crews also obtained good positions: Luciano Lui and Giovanni Adorni on a 1953 Fiat 1100 came seventh in the ranking, while Corrado Corneliani and Erminio Araldi on a 1958 Porsche 356 Cabriolet ended the race in 24th place.
Ottaviano Checchi and Matteo Iotti on a 1971 Lancia Fulvia also crossed the line, in 44th place, followed by the team's female crew, made up of Raffaella De Alessandrini di Neuestein and Francesca Sessarego on a 1955 Austin Haley, who came 65th.
