Vulcain - Cricket X-Treme Air Force 1 "All Black"
The new Vulcain Cricket X-Treme Automatique Air Force 1 "All Black" embodies a wealth of accomplishments. Whether inside or outside its black titanium case, this is a watch that leaves no room for compromises. The new Cricket X-Treme is issued in a limited edition of 300.
It plays the stealth watch, yet revels in admiration. The new Cricket X-Treme Automatique Air Force 1 "All Black" watch certainly enjoys paradoxes. At first glance, nothing disturbs the serene harmony of its black on black face. Yet a closer look reveals a half-shade of difference in the colour of the dial and bezel markers, as well as broad hands with a luminescent black coating! The red tip of the alarm hand stands out boldly against this striking backdrop. The black titanium case immediately reveals its distinctive nature. Its 44 mm-diameter size is visually enhanced by the asymmetrical effect of the fast date-correction pusher at 10 o'clock and the alarm corrector between 2 and 3 o'clock, extended by the winding-crown at 3.30. Its sapphire case-back enables optimal diffusion of the alarm sound both under water and in the air, thanks to acoustics enhanced by the titanium case. In addition to its assertive extreme styling, the Cricket X-Treme Automatique Air Force 1 "All Black" is distinguished by its fluted outer rotating bezel ensuring optimal handling and serving as a 60-minute counter.
At the heart of this case built for extremes beats the new self-winding Cricket Calibre V-21 alarm movement. Developed on the basis of the legendary Cricket Calibre V-10, stemming from over 60 years of evolution and enhancement, the self-winding V-21 alarm movement is a 12-lignes (12'''') movement equipped with two barrels, one to provide the energy required to drive the hours, minutes and seconds functions, and the other to power the alarm function and its 20-second chime. It beats at a frequency of 18,000 vibrations per hour and is endowed with a 42-hour power reserve. This 257-part movement features unidirectional winding and its oscillating weight is fitted with a ceramic ball-bearing mechanism. A worthy heir to the famous Cricket alarm calibre that has been forging the Vulcain legend since 1947, the Cricket V-21 movement drives the hours, minutes and central seconds indications, along with the date and a 60-minute graduated counter activated by the unidirectional rotating bezel. And last but far from least, Vulcain's signature alarm function.
Issued in a limited edition of 300, the Cricket X-Treme Automatique Air Force 1 "All Black" is available with a black vulcanised rubber strap with Vulcain marking and a black titanium safety folding clasp.
