This wathc does NOT look like the picture. It is large, heavy, thick, close to 1/2 inch! on the dial. Looks much more elegant in the photo. This is a sporty watch for a large man.

The newly signed partnership with the Swiss national Triathlon team early in 2010 has confirmed the desire of the Swiss Haute Horlogerie brand Parmigiani Fleurier to be involved in supporting young Swiss sporting talents and aiding their development.


Endurance and technology: two words intimately linked to the very essence of the two worlds, elite sport and Haute Horlogerie, and which now summarise what brings them together. Both these disciplines require perfect mastery of mechanics, whether physical or mental, which both produce performance only when reliability and durability have been achieved.
Impressed by the exceptional performance that the triathlon demands of every athlete in pursuit of excellence, Parmigiani Fleurier is proud to be at their side. In the lead-up to the 2012 London Olympic Games, there are a host of big trials awaiting them before final selection. Four men and three women out of the total of 32 athletes in the Swiss national Triathlon team have been registered to do battle for the qualifications. Versatility, complementarity and fluidity in switching between the three disciplines, as well as a sense of tactics, will make the difference to their times. To be at peak performance, the seven elite athletes are already equipped with a Parmigiani Pershing Chronograph model, enabling them to easily time their efforts on the bike, the road and in the water. Indeed the Pershing model, equipped with a 3-metre base tachometer, makes for easy race time calculation, and its 100 metre water resistance ensures efficient timing in the water. Note that the Pershing Chronograph Asteria, worn by the women athletes, has just been elected Watch of the Year - 2009-2010 "Montres Passion" public prize.

Sharing its expertise in the art of embellishing time, Parmigiani Fleurier wishes the 32 athletes of the Swiss Triathlon team unprecedented success in every challenge awaiting them, and the best prospects for the 2012 London Olympic Games.
