Graham - Silverstone Stowe GMT Red & Green
Gentlemen, start your engines: Race back to the colours of 1970ies car legends with this bicompax flyback chronograph with GMT/second time zone and big date. Laps are timed with the flyback chronograph which at the push of a button resets and restarts the stopwatch. Conceived originally for pilots to follow routes given as a function of heading, speed and time, the flyback function allows to reset and restart the stopwatch in one go and without stopping it first. Pilots don't have the time to stop, reset and restart their chronograph on each turn. Neither do racers want to do this each lap.
Named after Stowe Corner, the sharp right turn after Hangar Straight on Silverstone Circuit, this 48mm black PVD coated stainless steel watch with its carbon fibre dial and bezel is limited to 250 pieces for each dial colour. So better be fast.
Graham-London designed this watch with the minds of racing engineers: Average speed is taken with the help of the tachymeter scale, the crown is secured by an additional hexagonal lock nut and the oval pushers of the chronograph controls have the same grip surface as the pedals of a racing car.
The GMT function enables the simultaneous reading of two time zones: The 24-hour hand can be adjusted in steps of one hour independently from the regular hour hand and be set to GMT or any other time zone. Finally, the big two-digit display allows quick and easy reading of the date.
The racing outfit would be incomplete without the tyre tread strap (in fact, it's the tread of a rain tyre) with red or green insets echoing the colour of the dial and a ceramic buckle.
